With true love, there’s no such thing as a safe distance.
Mary Kildare knows how to read people. It’s both why she makes a great therapist and why she refuses to trust the average bachelor. Staying fiercely independent has been her primary relationship strategy—until wealthy playboy pilot (and commitmentphobe) Glen Fairchild reappears in her life. After a yearlong teasing tug-of-war, Mary and Glen test the waters of attraction, only to find that their physical chemistry runs deeper than flirtation.
At first, a bicoastal romance suits them both—especially since Glen can swoop in and whisk Mary away on one of his company’s planes. But no matter how close they get, they’re still three thousand miles apart. And when Mary’s life is threatened, Glen realizes the one luxury he doesn’t have is time. Can he close the distance between them before it’s too late?

~Jewelz Review~
I love Mary & Glen! Their story couldn't be more perfect! I love Mary's tender backstory and how it's brought front and center. Mary Frances is simply adorable. Her friends are fiercely loyal, but they help her push her limits when needed as well. As a therapist, Mary is very pragmatic and seems to have everything under control - but no one can have everything under control and Mary learns that asking for help isn't a sign of weakness.
Can Glen be more perfect? I think not. Sure, he's a little bit of a commitmentphobe and he likes to get his way, but he's such a good guy! And he's perfect for Mary. Their dynamic is so fun as Mary tries to be independent while Glen shows her it's okay to let him take care of her.
It wouldn't be a Bybee book without a bad guy to introduce a conflict. There are enough suspects for the reader to consider, outside what the main characters are considering at first, that you feel like you have a little bit of a mystery as a bonus with the contemporary romance.
Overall, a joy to read as I have come to expect from Ms Bybee. I'm looking forward to Jason's story showing up on my iPad soon!
FYI~ adult language, open door intimate scenes
