Book Blitz for Runaway To The Keys, Florida Keys Romance Series Book 3

Miki Bennett is a stay at home wife who has an intense love for the beach. Her passions include art and various crafts where she has won numerous awards over the years. She also calls herself the resident family tech geek, always checking out the latest gadget that comes out on the market. Most of all, she loves visiting the beach as much as possible, trying to fit all family vacations close to an island or beach if possible.
Miki began working for her parent’s family business when she was just eight years old and continued until they sold the company in 2007. At this time, she wasn’t sure of her next step in life and started learning as much as she could about the things that interested her the most: website building, painting with acrylic paints, new crochet techniques, photography, and many other venues trying to find out her next stage in life. This lead to her newest pursuit: writing.
She lives in Charleston, South Carolina with her husband, Jeff and their little dog Emma. They are a blended family with three grown children thus consider themselves empty nesters. Miki graduated from high school and went on to the College of Charleston but her interests were so varied that she couldn’t decide on a particular degree so she decided to learn on her own. Her life long pursuit of knowledge has lead her in many directions.
Miki is also a cancer survivor after having treatment in 2002 for Uterine Cancer. In 2013, she was diagnosed with Mastocytosis, a rare, incurable disorder in which patients can have life threatening allergic type reactions to the simplest things even though they are not truly allergic to the item: food, water, sun, heat, cold, sound, etc. Miki had lived with symptoms since she was a teenager but was given one diagnosis after another ending up with twelve different ones before she found the true cause. And since she looked fine on the outside, many didn’t believe she truly was ill. Once receiving the correct diagnosis, she is now on a mission to help others who deal with “invisible diseases” since these can be so hard on the patients. To the outside world patients look perfectly healthy though inside they deal with symptoms both physically and mentally.

A handsome marine biologist comes to Key Largo and meets a beautiful and vivacious boat captain. Sounds perfect, right?
Unfortunately for Garrett Holmes and Skylar Cartwright, meeting and falling in love isn’t all smooth sailing into the Florida sunset.
Despite their mutual attraction and growing feelings for one another, Skylar’s rocky relationship with her wealthy parents and Garrett’s jealous research assistant, Casey, make life plenty hectic for the new couple.
When Skylar’s ex-boyfriend, Andrew, appears on the scene, things get really complicated, forcing Garrett and Skylar to question if love is enough to sustain them through the social storms.
An engaging and spirited romance story set against the luscious backdrop of the Florida Keys, Miki Bennett’s third novel will sweep you away to a world of warm sun and emerald waters.

Snippet:
 #1

“Is this the Sea Gypsy?” the man said to Skylar as he approached the boat.
“Yes, it is. Are you Garrett Holmes?”
   “Yeah. Who are you?”
“Skylar Cartwright, your captain. Welcome aboard.”
To say that Garrett Holmes was just handsome did not do him justice. This man temporarily took Skylar’s breath away. His short, wavy dark-brown hair was a bit unruly but gave him a rogue look that was intriguing. The muscles that she could see since he was wearing a tank top and shorts were taut and tanned. He’s gorgeous, Skylar thought as the man continued to stand on the dock, looking at her as if she had lost her mind.
“You are the captain. No way!”

 #2
“You’re going in the water one more time.”
The female voice came from behind Garrett. He spun around so quickly he almost became tnalged in his own equipment. Skylar had wrapped a towel around herself, but she still couldn’t hide her beauty. And for the first time in such a long while Garrett found himself thinking about something else––or should he say someone––while on a boat at sea. This woman, who was beguiling and also his sea captain, had tatally captivated him on his first day aboard, but it was not as if he would admit it to anyone.

The Matchmaker's Replacement by Rachel Van Dyken - Excerpt Reveal

The Matchmaker's Replacement Banner

  VanDyken-TheMatchmakersReplacement-CV-FL-vC6-RGB
Wingman rule number two: never reveal how much you want them. Lex hates Gabi. Gabi hates Lex. But, hey, at least the hate is mutual, right? All Lex has to do is survive the next few weeks training Gabi in all the ways of Wingmen Inc. and then he can be done with her. But now that they have to work together, the sexual tension and fighting is off the charts. He isn’t sure if he wants to strangle her or throw her against the nearest sturdy table and have his way with her. But Gabi has a secret, something she’s keeping from not just her best friend but her nemesis too. Lines are blurred as Lex becomes less the villain she’s always painted him to be…and starts turning into something more. Gabi has always hated the way she’s been just a little bit attracted to him—no computer-science major should have that nice of a body or look that good in glasses—but “Lex Luthor” is an evil womanizer. He’s dangerous. Gabi should stay far, far away. Then again, she’s always wanted a little danger.

EXCERPT

I hated him.

HATED him.

Hate, hate, hate. I chanted the words to myself that very next morning as I stomped toward his ridiculously expensive house, next to the ridiculously nice lake, with his ridiculously loud red Mercedes parked out front. Jackass.

I’d be doing society a favor if I set it on fire.

Seriously.

The thing was probably filled with so much bodily fluid and disease that if he got in a car accident he’d infect the entire freeway and start a citywide epidemic.

I shuddered.

I compartmentalized Lex into two boxes.

The first box was Childhood Lex, the friend who used to hang out with Ian and me before he moved across town, never to be seen again. He used to ride with me to school, and when I was sick he gave me my own box of Kleenex—never mind that he stole it from his teacher’s desk. The point is, Childhood Lex was a keeper.

Box number two?

Asshole Lex, also known as the version I was walking toward. The Lex I met when I was eighteen, who momentarily stunned me speechless with his godlike beauty, had been a figment of my overactive, sad, hormone-riddled imagination.

On the outside? The perfect man.

With a brooding and sultry smile.

Biceps the size of my head.

Who gave me the distinct feeling that if I ran my hands over his buzzed hair I’d orgasm before he even touched me.

Whatever. I was over it. So over it.

A lot of people had stupid crushes when they were eighteen, right?

Now all I saw when I looked into his stormy blue eyes was syph or the clap, and that was being generous. The dude was a walking STD and seriously tried every nerve I had. He was an ass. Plain and simple, no sugar coating. He was the type of guy who’d tell a chick that she looked fat in a dress or who refused to share the communal breadbasket. See! He couldn’t even adhere to typical manners during mealtime! Just thinking about him had me tied up in knots.

Last year, when I went shopping and stupidly invited Ian along—which of course meant Lex had to come—I was told in no uncertain terms that if I would just stop drinking chocolate milk in the morning I’d be able to fit into a smaller size.

He’d smiled.

His dimples had deepened.

He’d even crossed his arms as if to say, Look, I did you a favor, pat me on the back.

Instead I had kicked him in the balls and tried to give him a black eye, clocking Ian in the face.

My point? Lex. Was. The. Devil.

I made a point of only hanging out with Lex when absolutely necessary, and even then I almost always had Ian as a buffer. But now that he was playing love nest with my ex-roomie, Blake? Well, I was on my own.

Lex opened the door after my third aggressive knock. Black sweatpants hung  low on his hips, a vintage Mariners shirt fell open around his neck, and he was wearing black-framed glasses that made his eyes more appealing than should be legal.

“Sunshine,” he said, his smirk deepening as he crossed his burly arms over his chest.

“Dickhead.” I smiled sweetly. “New glasses? They look thicker than last time.”

“Better to see you with.” He leaned forward, his eyes narrowing into tiny slits. “There they are.” He reached for one of my boobs.

I slapped his hand away so hard my palm stung.

“Probably not the best way to treat your new male clients.” He shook his hand and  turned towards the living room leaving the door wide open. Manners were completely lost on him.

Gritting my teeth, I slammed the door behind me and took off my shoes because I knew if I didn’t he’d give me hell.

He was a freak like that.

For as much ass as he got, it was shocking how much Lysol he used around the house. His clothes were never wrinkled; everything was pristine.

Even his breath.

Damn him.

He drank coffee like a Starbucks employee but never had coffee breath.

It was almost painful, staring him in the face, knowing that everything on the outside appeared perfect—but didn’t match the inside at all, not even close!

Beauty like Lex’s was dangerous and wickedly tempting, like something out of a paranormal romance novel. Sometimes, at night, when I dreamed of Lex getting hit by a car, I imagined him as a vampire roaming the streets in his favorite black sweats, shirtless, shimmering under the streetlights, just waiting for whores to line up so he could take a few bites.

A pencil flew by my head.

“Yo.” Lex’s eyebrows shot up. “We have a lot of work to do if we’re going to get you ready for the next two clients. Daydream about chicks on your own time.”

“I’m not a lesbian.”

He bit on his bottom lip, sinking back in his chair  as his eyes slowly roamed from my mismatched socks all the way up to my head. “Okay, whatever you say, Gabs.”

I will not commit homicide. I will not commit homicide. “You know,” I said as I tossed my purse onto the table, “it’s offensive that you assume all lesbians dress like crap.” So what? I was wearing a ratty white T-shirt and ripped jeans, and I was pretty sure I still had mascara on from the night before. It was my Lex repellant. He hated sloppiness.

“Offensive.” He nodded. “Also true . . .” He used the spare pencil from behind his ear to slide my purse over to the farthest side of the table. “It wouldn’t kill you to wear something other than jeans and T-shirts, Gabs.” He sighed. “Say it with me: dresssss—”

I grabbed the pencil from his hand, broke it into two pieces, and handed them back to him. “I wear dresses, just not for you. Dresses are your kryptonite, especially short black ones. I refuse to be a part of your ‘shower time.’”

He snorted. “You wish.”

“Yes. Every night when I go to sleep I pray for Lex to dream of me while he jerks off because yet another girl refused to follow his instructions in bed : ‘Damn it, use the manual!’” I said, using my best imitation of Lex’s voice. I’d only heard him shout instructions to a girl once, and it had scarred me for life. What the hell are you doing? Do I look like I’m satisfied? There’s a diagram! Ugh.

Lex rolled his eyes. “Very funny, and the manual is there for a reason. Do you even know how many chicks get confused when I call out sexual positions? It’s like, get there faster, you know?”

My feelings were torn between fascination and disgust. “So,” I changed the subject. “Let’s train, because I have about ten years worth of Organic Chem homework.”

Lex sighed and held out his hand.

“No.” I crossed my arms. “I don’t need help.”

Okay, I needed help, desperately needed help, and Lex wasn’t just passably smart but a certified genius, at least when he applied himself. I refused to ask him to go over my homework just because Organic Chem was, to me, like reading a foreign language.

He cleared his throat.

I didn’t move.

Finally, he stood, slowly walked over to the end of the table, and fished the chem book from my oversized purse. “What chapter?”

“Lex—”

“If I’m teaching you Organic Chem, at least say Professor Lex.”

“Listen very closely, Lex.” I went over and jerked my book out of his hands. “I didn’t need your help last year when I almost failed biology, and I sure as hell don’t need your help now. Let’s just get this training done so I can go home and suffer in silence, alright?”

“Fine.” He dropped my book against the table and then, without warning, grabbed me by my shoulders and pushed me against the counter that bordered the kitchen. My butt hit the cupboard . “Up until now we’ve been helping people find their perfect match. Basically acting like a wingman so that the idiots of this world see the girl who’s been standing in front of them all along .”

Why was he standing so close? Did we have to be touching? I told my body not to respond to his proximity, but Lex was magnetic, even if every part of him was evil. My brain was having trouble functioning while his large palms were pressed into the tops of my shoulders.

“Okay.” I swallowed. “And now that you’re allowing guys to become clients of Wingmen Inc., I basically do the same thing. Give them confidence, help them capture the one girl who’s always seen them as the friend—or worse, who they’ve been invisible to.”

“What’s that like, I wonder?” Lex still didn’t release me. “Being invisible . . . Maybe next time a dude ignores you, take notes.”

And another insult.

“Lex.” I huffed out a breath. “Just get on with it.”

“Right.” His eyes momentarily locked on mine before he rubbed the bridge of his nose where his glasses were perched. It was not sexy. It wasn’t. Really. That. Sexy. “So whenever we take on a new client, we give them a list of questions, meet them in a public place, and then use the power of human emotions like jealousy and curiosity to get the other person interested. That’s where you come in. If another girl sees our client as desirable, he becomes desirable.”

“That easy?”

“Sort of.” Lex leaned forward. “But you can’t suck.”

“Suck?”

“At anything.” His lips hovered near my mouth. He was starting to freak me out. I wanted to run away, but I was pinned.

“Lex, if you kiss me I will bite your tongue off. I swear.”

“If I was actually kissing you”—Lex released one of my shoulders and placed a finger against my mouth—“you’d know it. This, my frumpy friend, is training.”

His lips descended.

They pressed against mine, then pulled back. “Yeah.” He shook his head. “Gabs, you’re going to need to open your mouth a bit more. Guys are stupid. They always assume that more tongue means better kissing, when the opposite is true, but you still need to have your lips parted, not locked down like Fort Knox.”

“What’s happening?” I tried to push away from him.

Lex rolled his eyes. “Gabs, believe me, this is all business. You can even keep your hand on my junk the whole time.”

“What!” I roared.

“So you know without a doubt that nothing about you turns me on.” He grinned menacingly. “Seriously, I don’t mind.”

“I do!”

“Hey!” He chuckled. “I was just trying to help.”

“Grabbing your penis is not the answer, Lex!”

“Weird, because it so often is.”

“I hate today.”

“Is it the rain?” He frowned.

“It’s not—”

“It is.”

“Stop that!” I shoved him. “Hurry up and grade my kissing skills so I can go home and study.”

“Kissing, hand holding, hugging, cuddling, laughing, winking—just a few things you need to master.” He was firing off so many horrible, body-numbing words.

“Just hurry up,” I grumbled in a defeated voice as I tried to block out the fact that he was a good-looking ass who offended me with every single breath he took.

“Ah . . .” Lex held up his hand. “One never hurries a kiss.”

“What about a passionate kiss?”

“A passionate kiss isn’t hurried, it’s frenzied. Damn, don’t you know anything?”

Heat swamped my cheeks.

“How many guys have you kissed, Gabs?”

“Plenty!” Five. I’d kissed five.

“You blush down your neck when you lie.” Lex cupped my chin and then brought his lips down against mine again. “Part.”

Sighing against his mouth, I relaxed my lips while his slid across.

He pulled back, wearing a frown of irritation. “A bit more, Gabs. Guys want access.”

I kept my eyes open.

So did he.

I didn’t want him assuming I was into it, which was probably his exact line of thinking. Only keeping my eyes open was an entirely raw experience, watching him watch me while I felt him.

I shivered.

“Cold?” That stupid smirk was back.

“Frigid.” I glared, putting myself down before he had a chance to.

“You read my mind.” He nodded seriously. “Now stop being a bitch, and let me teach you how to kiss.”

“I know how to kiss!” I don’t know what came over me—maybe it was the need to prove myself, or possibly it was just stress over the entire situation. Needing to stay in school and hating that he was the answer, I wrapped my arms around his neck and jumped, my hips colliding with his as I mauled his mouth with as much passion as I could conjure up, this time closing my eyes and putting everything I had into it.

With a growl, Lex pushed me back against the countertop. As my butt collided with the edge, his tongue plunged into my mouth and his hands dug into my hair, pulling it free from its ponytail while he changed positions  his lips demanding a punishing kiss from a different angle as his he gave my hair a harder tug back.

I grasped at his T-shirt, pulling him closer and nearly falling backward into the sink.

And then, just when I was in danger of losing myself to the kiss that would probably be the best kiss of my life, I bit down on his bottom lip.

That move didn’t work out the way I’d planned, not at all. In my head it was smart. I’d piss him off, get him to pull back and leave me alone.

It did nothing of the sort.

Nothing of the sort at]  all.

With a hiss he pulled back, fire blazing in his eyes. For a split second that seemed to go on for an eternity, he hovered and I waited, both of us on the edge of something. He wet his lips, I mimicked the movement, and then, like a snake, he struck. His mouth fused to mine in a punishing kiss, one that bruised my mouth while imprinting its essence on my soul.

Review of Four Chambers by Julie Wright (Power of the Matchmaker)

Four Chambers by Julie Wright (Power of the Matchmaker)
Clean Romance
Every time Andra Stone crosses paths with Everett Covington, trouble follows. First she loses her scholarship, then she loses the apartment she’d wanted more than anything. But tragedy hits hardest when she loses her grandmother—the best friend Andra has ever known. She determines that Everett is a talisman of ill fortune. When Everett comes to work in her hospital and is applying for the same position she’d been working toward since residency, Andra believes him to be her personal poltergeist.
The human heart has four chambers—four chances to get it right. Andra has only one chance left.
Jewelz Review~
The Matchmaker Series is quickly becoming one of my favorite series! I absolutely adore Miss Pearl and each of the couples she brings together. Everett and Andra's story takes place over several years. Unfortunately, their path to finding true love is not straight, nor is it easy. At times I thought it should have been much easier than it was - but life has a way of throwing things in the path that cause distractions and detours.

Some of the things I LOVED - "Andrea without and E" and "Everest without an S"
-Red spray paint bouquet
- Grams!
- Andra's heart-shaped diamond necklace (sobs!)
- Nathaniel
-Hazel & Second Childhood <3
-Becca
-Miss Pearl (of course!)

All those little obstacles and distractions that got in the way of Andra and Everett's relationship frustrated me, but I recognize them for what they are - necessary breaks for Andra and Everett to learn and grow. Andra needed the years of medical school and residency to not only mature, but to understand herself better. She needed to meet Everett's family to understand him more fully, and she needed to learn to appreciate the importance of social relationships. I think Everett needed to experience other relationships to know that Andra truly was "the one."

While the road was long and tangled, the "red string of fate" never broke. I love how the Chinese proverbs were sprinkled throughout and intertwined with their story. Another wonderful addition to The Matchmaker Series.

“You want me to help Eiress?”
She nodded, a silvery tear snaking its way down her cheek.
“I will. Anything. Just tell me how.” He would have grabbed her hand to hold her to him if it were possible. His fear was gone—anything that could help him help Eiress was not something to be feared.
He hoped.
“I am…her mother…”
Landon swore again. Of course. It all made sense now.
She reached past him, touched the mirror again, and Landon turned to see it swirl away from Eiress’s empty chambers to an altogether different scene. A woman—the ghost in front of him—but still alive, knelt over the lifeless body of a young girl, maybe twelve years old. Her neck was torn, the ground around her soaked in blood. The woman sobbed as paramedics came, as cops came, as strangers with cameras came. A baby boy screamed on the floor next to her. They asked her questions. They asked her what had happened, and she couldn’t answer them. They asked her where her other little girl was. Her sweet little girl.
Eiress.
Where had Eiress gone?
The mirror swirled, time seemed to pass, and the woman sank into despair as she searched for her lost little girl. The funeral, the questions, the constant, never ending search. Someone came and took the baby away.
And then the swirling stopped. In the flashback, the woman stared at the mirror, sobbing, in the darkness.
Eiress appeared in front of her.
Landon recognized her. This was when he’d started seeing her, or soon after.
“Mama, please, I can’t stay long.” Eiress looked over her shoulder. “Please, stop looking. Please. Where I am—you can’t—you can’t save me. Please move on, Mama. I love you.” Eiress put her hand to the mirror.
The woman cried harder, raised her hand, reaching for Eiress—but Eiress screamed once and then was gone.
“I can’t save her. I can’t save her. I can’t…” The woman raised her head, eyes terrified, yet full of determination. “I can’t save her while I’m alive. But I can…” The next image was the woman, standing next to her own dead body.
She’d taken her own life.

Jewelz Review~

I remember when I was in elementary school and my friends told me how if you went into the bathroom with the lights off and said "Bloody Mary" three times, she would come to you through the mirror. I also remember doing it out and while my mind was probably simply playing tricks on me, I saw a bloody girl in the mirror reaching towards me -- and it scared me to death. I ran from that bathroom and never played that "game" again.

You can imagine my curiosity when I picked up Princess of the Damned -- a book that tells the tale of Eiress, a young woman who was taken through the mirror by Bloody Mary when she was but three years old. She has been trapped on the Isle of the Damned for the past fourteen years. Eiress has a secret though -- she has a friend who lends her strength to endure the nightmares she faces each day.

Landon never sees his reflection in the mirror. I can't even imagine what that would be like -- every time he looks into a mirror he sees HER. He talks to her, but he knows she can't hear him. That doesn't matter because he knows she can feel his presence because she talks to him as well. Over the years he has fallen in love with her, and now he needs to rescue her. But how?

There are rules. She's chained to the island, just like Bloody Mary and Elizabeth, so she cannot leave. When someone comes in, only one can go out. Landon needs the key to unlock her chains, and he needs to find his way to the Isle of the Damned so he can bring Eiress home.

This is the stuff little girls' nightmares are made of, but out of the darkness comes the most beautiful light. This isn't truly a horror story -- it's also a love story. Of a mother's love for her child, Landon and Eiress' love for each other, and even the love and loyalty between a girl and her pet dragon.

Princess of the Damned will take you on an emotional adventure -- fear, anxiety, love, loyalty, peace, anger, friendship, bitterness, and sorrow are only a few of the feelings you might experience as you travel to the Isle of the Damned and come face-to-face with Bloody Mary.

Love is Come by Heather Moore - The Matchmaker Series

**Amazon Top 50 in Victorian Romance**

“I have to remind myself to breathe—almost to remind my heart to beat.” —Wuthering Heights

From the Power of the Matchmaker series: LOVE IS COME

Nelle Thompson lives a life of privilege during the turn of the century New York City. When her parents are killed in a terrible accident, she’s forced to live with her aunt’s family in a small town in Connecticut, and treated as a poor relation with no financial independence. Broken hearted and riddled with insomnia, Nelle’s health begins a downward spiral. When a locked part of her heart blossoms around her cousin’s fiancé Mathew Janson, Nelle doesn’t know if she can endure one more heartbreak. Miss Pearl, owner of the local apothecary shop, becomes a mother figure to Nelle, but a fateful summer day has Nelle questioning everything she's ever believed and wondering if she’ll ever love again.

Jewelz Review~
I have really enjoyed the Matchmaker series that this book is a part of. Each book is so different - set in different time periods, different locations, and written by different authors. The unifying piece is Miss Pearl - the Matchmaker. While Pearl's influence on each relationship is different, her character doesn't change with each author's interpretation. And she's a character I have grown to love.

Love is Come tells the story of Nelle, a young New York socialite in the early 1900s. She's coming up to her 21st birthday, her best friend Dottie is practically engaged, and her parents are hopeful that Nelle will find a young man and marry soon as well. But, tragedy strikes and Nelle's world turns upside down with her parents' sudden deaths. She leaves to go stay with her Aunt Corrine and cousin Alice out in the country until her birthday when her trust will be turned over to her.

On her first full day in the country, Nelle sets off to walk into town. Along the way she encounters Matthew who is Alice's beau. Being a gentleman, he accompanies Nelle into town but then the two go their separate ways. This is when Alice meets Pearl and a bit of hope begins to break the clouds of melancholy that surround Nelle as she tries to put Pearl's advice into practice.

This story really pulled at my heartstrings. Nelle has a string of trials that weigh her down, yet she makes a valiant effort to still be a light to those around her. While her journey is difficult I think it makes it even more beautiful when at last love is come.

Timeless Romance Anthologies - Road Trip Collection

#1 Amazon Bestselling Romance Anthology in Clean Romance

Six new contemporary romance novellas from bestselling authors:

WHAT FALLING FEELS LIKE by Jolene Betty Perry
High school was years ago, and Kendell is ready to admit that Tyler, her best friend’s younger brother, has matured into a good-looking man. But the once-popular Kendell is recovering from a marriage-gone-wrong, and she regrets turning Tyler down for high school prom. On their road trip to deliver a refurbished camper, Kendell rediscovers all the reasons she liked Tyler, but it might be too late to rekindle their friendship.

Jewelz Review~
I loved the story of Kendell and Tyler - it was so sweet! Poor Kendell has had a rough couple of years and really is quite broken emotionally. She has begun to make a success refurbishing campers and is starting to get back on her feet again. Tyler has grown up in the past few years since Kendell saw him last - he's pretty easy on the eyes and he's made a success of himself creating custom pieces of furniture. On their shared road trip they begin to reconnect and find that there may be a spark. But Kendell has changed and she has emotional baggage - is she ready to attempt a new relationship? Does Tyler want to risk being a "rebound" relationship with the girl who broke his heart in high school?

I would have loved for this novella to have been a full length novel - more Kendell and Tyler!!

ANTIQUES ROAD TRIP by Sarah M. Eden
Kelsey is living out her dream for the weekend as she participates in a reality show contest by living on a 19th century film set. The contestant who wins the show receives a trip to England and $100k, more than enough to get her through grad school. When she meets Devon, who was coerced by his sister to participate, friendship blossoms. When things go wrong for Kelsey, Devon is there to help, and she soon realizes that winning the contest isn’t what she most desires.

Jewelz Review~
This was such a fun story! I'm a big fan of historical fiction, so this was a cute twist - a modern reality TV show that attempts to recreate life in the early 1800s. I absolutely adore Kelsey - she is so sweet and kind - and she knows the 19th century! Devon was the perfect guy - the perfect brother and he learned to be a pretty darn good marquess as well. It would have been fun to have seen what was going on with the other team, but given the limitations of point of view and story length I understand its absence. Kelsey's generosity and concern for others is incomparable. The end was perfect - of course I would have loved to have more, but it wrapped up perfectly.

WOULDN’T IT BE NICE by Ranee` S. Clark
When Jacqueline's boyfriend Colin drops out of their long-planned road trip with friends to put his job first—again—it's the final nail in the coffin of their dying relationship. But then Hudson, her best friend’s brother, takes Colin's spot for the road trip, and Jacqueline’s disappointment in her ex takes a back seat to the chance for reestablishing the close ties she once had with Hudson. When their friendship detours into romance, it forces Jacqueline to question her reasons for breaking up with Colin and her future with Hudson.

Jewelz Review~
Another sweet romance - Jac is a woman who knows what she wants and is tired of playing second fiddle to her boyfriend's job so she finally breaks up with him. She's given him ever chance she can - she does love the guy, but he just can't seem to put her first. When her childhood best friend, Hudson, joins their group road trip to Alaska, Jac is pleasantly surprised as he's about to start his residency. Even better is that Hudson admits to being interested in Jac. Their friendship begins to blossom into a more intimate relationship. But is this a risk she can take? Is she over Colin? With Hudson beginning his residency and then a full-time job as a doctor, will she find herself pushed aside for a career again?

HEAD OVER HEELS by Annette Lyon
Tristan is proud to be an entrepreneur, running a popular singles’ lifestyle blog. So when she gets an offer to cover a singles convention in Las Vegas, she needs to find a way to get there from another freelance job in Salt Lake without breaking into her personal savings. Her friend sets her up with a co-worker who happens to be driving that way, and Tristan is more than surprised to come face-to-face with a man she has a lot in common with, not to mention seems to click with right away. The two decide to play a prank on Tristan’s friend, and pretend that they are smitten with each other, but soon, the lines between pretend and reality start to fade.

Jewelz Review~
Tristan and Mac have such a fun story! I love that it starts at Comic Con and I love that they love 80s music! I had so much fun reading about their road trip to Vegas and their relationship that developed almost without them realizing. They "clicked" right from the start and their relationship was so light-hearted and spontaneous. You can't help but fall in love with them.

TWO DOZEN ROSES by Heather B. Moore
Dayna reluctantly takes time out of her busy work life to drive her mother up the Pacific Coast Highway from California to her brother’s home in Oregon. Strangely enough, they keep running into two brothers who are traveling the same route in honor of their sister’s memory. The older brother Garrett is a merciless flirt, but the younger brother Roman is who captures Dayna’s attention. Soon she realizes that the brothers are extremely competitive, and she’s just become their next target.

Jewelz Review~
This story was different than the others because the couple isn't on a road trip together, or at least they aren't in the same car and they didn't plan their trip together. It just happens that they're taking the same scenic route up the California Coast at the same time. Garrett is the stereotypical, over-the-top, every-girl-loves-me, successful, good-looking guy. Roman is more down to earth, but just as good looking. Dayna really isn't looking for love, but she can't help but see how amazing Roman is. Garrett drove me a little nuts, but Roman was perfect. There were a few inaccuracies with the setting and timing, but if you haven't spent 33+ years living in California like I did, you probably wouldn't notice them. It's a sweet story and they're a couple you can easily fall in love with.

TRY, TRY AGAIN by Aubrey Mace
Sarah’s secret crush on Justin takes a sudden turn when he breaks up with his girlfriend and declares that he’s interested in Sarah. She believes he’s just on the rebound, and they slowly drift apart. Six months later, Sarah still can’t stop thinking about what might have been. She ropes her friend into taking a road trip to visit Justin, hoping for a second chance. When Justin sees her, he wants answers, and Sarah has to decide if she’s brave enough to finally tell him the truth.

Jewelz Review~
This is another story where the couple doesn't road trip together. Sarah convinces her very pregnant friend to take a road trip to the viewing for Justin's grandfather who just passed away. It's been six months since Justin told her he was interested in her, but she ran scared. Now she realizes that not only did she give up a chance to be with someone she really cares about, but she misses his friendship too. This roadtrip is her opportunity to reconnect with Justin and possibly begin a relationship. I enjoyed reading about Sarah - she knows what she wants, but she fears rejection. There are some really cute and fun scenes with Sarah and Lottie, and with Justin.

Overall this was a fun, sweet collection of stories that would be perfect for a summer read - especially if you're on a road trip yourself!
