Ripple Effect Romance - Silver Linings

Updated Silver
Silver Linings by Kaylee Baldwin Drew Westfall wants nothing more than to forget what he had to do in the name of "smart" business. Cutting off all ties with his parents—including handing over the entire contents of his trust fund to a charity—he takes off for Bridger, Colorado where his best friend has an extra room for him. It doesn't take long for him to realize that his business degree won’t do him much good in a town as small as Bridger, but he's broke and has nowhere else to go. Eden Torresi has every reason to wallow. Not only did she have to sell her house to pay for her mother’s medical expenses, but she also had to drop out of school and is in a relationship with a guy unwilling to commit. But Eden isn't the wallowing type. Instead, she chooses to spend most of her time taking care of the seniors at Silver Linings Assisted Living. When she learns that her boyfriend's new roommate is down on his luck, her caring nature makes her want to reach out to him and offer what help she can. But the more time they spend together, the more complicated things get, especially when the seniors of Silver Linings decide to play matchmaker.

Tifferz Take~
Drew who we meet briefly in Home Matters gets his story in Silver Lining! We meet him under much different circumstances  than we did two weeks ago in Savannah.  Drew has cut ties with his wealthy, greedy, controlling and cold family from Denver. Drew is on his own on his way to Jace’s house when he hits black ice and crashes his new to him car. He finds himself walking to the first place that looks like someone is home and that is Silver linings.  Eden works at silver linings and has made many friends with all the elderly people. They are worried for Eden and her lack of social life and that Eden’s  boyfriend (Jace)has no time for her. Oh  and is not doing a proper job of romancing her.  Eden walks out to reception to see Drew in a heap on the floor with blood on his face. She offers assistance and all he really wants is a phone but Eden is insistent that he warm up before she helps him find Jace. Eden is a giver and takes excellent care of those she cares about.
Eden gets accepted to the University of Colorado and needs to decide if she is going to go or not. She wants to but is not sure how it will work with her mom and working as well Eden tries to put passion into her relationship with Jace but it is not happening. Drew and Eden fall into a routine of helping each other. Jace is always busy.  With Drew helping with Eden’s mom and working at Silver Linings they end up seeing a lot of each other. The residence of Silver Lining have ideas of how to get Drew and Eden together. But will it work? Or will Eden stay will Jace out of connivance?  One of my favorite scenes is the bathroom. I was cracking up and yet it was sweet as well.
Eden has all these choices to make? And I think she has given so much that she needs to find herself. I am happy to say Eden has made some good choices one of which is going to college. And I think she has discovered more about who she is and what she wants. I liked seeing Drew  make choices and find himself. He learned a lot from leaving his family and giving all he had to charity. Drew thought of himself as selfish but he is not. He care a great deal about Eden and the people of Silver linings. He does some more giving when he contacts Olivia and Pete from Home Matters show up with more surprises! So, will Eden and Drew finally work things out? You must read it to find out! I truly found this heartwarming story irresistible.  I could not ask for a more perfect ending to this story.  I highly recommend this book!
Just FYI- This has NO swearing or sexual situations.

Jewelz Review~

I loved this book! Silver Linings is a wonderful sweet romance and a perfect sequel to Home Matters.  The story begins with Drew driving through the snow in Bridger, Colorado searching for his friend Jace's home. After crashing his car, Drew stumbles into the Silver Linings retirement home searching for warmth and a phone so he can call Jace. Always ready to lend a helping hand, Eden tends to Drew's needs and then takes him to Jace's home. Drew can't help but be attracted to the beautiful angel who comes to his rescue, but alas, she is dating his best frined.

Since Drew is basically penniless at this point (due to the cost of repairing his car) and since he doesn't have a job yet, he offers to help watch over Eden's mother who is dying of cancer. Eden has always been the one to offer help, not the one to be on the receiving end - so this is something new for her. She accepts the offer and thus begins the development of a deep friendship and respect for one another. Both are attracted to each other, but since Eden and Jace are dating it seems that they just weren't meant to be.

However, there's a whole supporting cast of elderly men and women who reside at Silver Linings. These sweet folk have all kinds of ideas about who Eden should be with and they are not above creating situations to "trap" the unsuspecting couple.

Silver Linings is a story of kindness, service, love and loss. It's a heartwarming read that will leave you feeling warm and happy inside. It's the perfect book for a winter's afternoon.

I am LOVING this series!!!!!!!  Eden is a selfless young lady who put everyone above herself.  I want to be more like Eden in the way she cares for others.  We met Drew in Home Matters and the transition to Silver Linings is perfect.  I enjoyed getting to know Drew and his ability to walk away from wealth.  His search for direction in his life was a great addition to the story.  I loved the romance in this story and how Eden's "older" friends had her best interest at heart.  This is a great spring break read.  I am looking forward to the next book, Righting a Wrong.
