A Lot Like a Lady by Kay Springsteen & Kim Bowman
Ladies' maid, Juliet Baines has gotten herself into a pickle by agreeing to go to London and taking the place of her mistress and best friend, Annabella Price, stepsister to the Duke of Wyndham. After all, what does a servant know about being a lady? But Juliet soon finds that pretending to be a lady isn't nearly as hard as guarding her heart against the folly of wanting a man who's completely out of reach.
Graeme "Grey" Roland Dominick Markwythe, Sixth Duke of Wyndham, approaches his duties as a nobleman with great dedication and meticulous care. And he's a man who is not easily fooled...except when he tries to convince himself he's not utterly and madly in love with the beautiful imposter who has turned his life upside down. Will society and his responsibilities to his noble status keep him from opening his heart to the woman he loves?
Chellz Review~
This was the first book I have read by Kay Springsteen and Kim Bowman and I have to say I am a FAN!!!!! I so enjoyed this book, by the 2nd chapter I couldn't put it down. I was up late and ignored many things on my "to do" list so that I could finish. This story of a lady's maid, Juliet, who goes to London in the place of Annabella, unfolds beautifully. I usually enjoy Regency Romance but this story was fabulous. I loved every page I read about this household that has to deal with family drama, death and the rules of propriety in the day. There were parts of this story where I was laughing and also a part where I was crying so much I needed to replace my pillowcase. I was worried that a happily ever after would not be possible but Kay and Kim came thru. I cannot wait to read the sequel and find out what has happened to Annabella.

I love the the romance trope of masquerading--and this story sounds fun and exciting. Kinda like a treasure hunt where the hero and heroine "find" each other. Love it! :-) Thanks so much for the post. Was glad to her about this book. jdh2690@gmail.com
