 Blurb~

He never ventures into polite society, but when he dis-covers he is the only heir to the Earldom of Harriss, he goes to one ball. And that one ball, was enough to change the direction of his life forever.
But how could he possibly have known that other person— the other half of his whole—would not only need his help but threaten his very existence?

She didn’t know how hard it would be to love the broken.
Isabelle Hartwell’s mother just sold her to the Beast of Russia. He’s mean, tem-peramental, and the most virile, handsome man she has ever encountered. But he has a secret, one he’s willing to die for and he refuses to let anyone in. Will she be able to reach his heart before it’s too late?

Find out if love prevails in this regency retelling of how Beauty tamed the savage Beast…

Tifferz Take~
I am enjoying Rachel Van Dyken's London Fairy Tale series! I also like how each story sets up the next story in the series.  I think this could be a stand alone book. But it is much better when read in the series order. This story is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast and Ms. Van Dyken makes this story her own. Dominique endured a traumatic childhood and has both physical and emotional scars. Dominique has his moments of being a Beast aka jerk. I kinda liked that he was not perfect. I really like Isabella she is a real trooper and seems to go with what is thrown her way. She also does not give up and when she loves she gives all her heart! The story is written from both Dominique's and Isabelle's perspective. I felt those transitions were seamless. I liked how we get to see inside both characters heads. I loved when  Isabelle and Dominique realize they love the other. I also loved the ball. That is just really romantic and sweet. Overall a very enjoyable read.  We also get to see a lot of Hunter, Dominique's best friend. Oh my goodness I can't wait to read Hunter and Gwen's story.

Just FYI~
This story does have some bedroom scenes that are a bit steamy with minimal description. Normally any bedroom scene this author writes is behind closed doors but the door is open a bit in this book. But the book does not contain any swear words.
