Dere's Demons by Tara Manderino

Knowing it would soon be impossible to keep her small family together, Jane struggled to find a way to ensure a better life for her sisters. She did so with the very man who once wagered against her brother for their home. It took some convincing and a lot of planning on her part to present the situation to Lord Derrington in the best possible light. When he finally agrees to take the young girls in, she doesn't expect to be included! It takes some work on Dere's part, and his sister's, in getting Jane to find her place in society. While Jane was learning her place and considering suitors that Dere's sister willingly presented, Dere was trying to unravel the mystery of a missing artifact, and saving his earldom. He did not expect Jane to have the key to his answers, nor did he expect to find his own attraction to her. To Jane, the attraction was one-way and dead-end. In searching for the artifact, Dere uncovered her brother's role. If it came between Dere's family's honor and Jane's, which would he choose?

Tifferz Take-
I love a good regency and that is what Dere's Demons is. Ms. Manderino creates a lively read with the lovely Jane who has to make some tough choices in this story. Brayden has a good heart. Brayden is quick to assume things but eventually gets it. Jane is strong and loyal to her family and wants what is best for them. Even though her brother is not as selfless. I liked the mystery with Brayden's  half brother Nigel and a missing statue. I found the pace to be just right, not too fast as you miss things and not too slow! I also like Brayden's sister and his best friend and the sub romance going on.

I did wish we had more detail on how Brayden got his information. It seemed to me he just knew things about Liverpool and the prince and the statue.  A lovely romance with a mystery that leaves you happy in the end. Overall an enjoyable read that is still lingering in my mind several days later! You can always count on Ms. Manderino for a clean only two swear words and free from sex.
