A Saint Comes Stumbling In by Bonnie McCune

Blurb-
Can a rejected wife conquer self-doubt, trap a criminal, and win love? A patron saint might help...

Thirty-something Joan Nelson has more to contend with than a biological clock or an identity crisis. Despite her ardent belief in a conventional marriage, she finds herself deserted for a younger, slimmer woman. Lacking any skills or education, she's thrust unprepared into the nightmare challenge of making a living for the first time in her sheltered existence.

A job as a receptionist in a law firm is the first rung on the ladder to her independence. Yet the taste of success sours when Joan considers the emptiness of her personal life. How can she reconstruct her damaged life and heal her bruised ego? Ill-equipped for the singles scene, she embarks on a confusing, sometimes frightening, new lifestyle.

When Joan stumbles on a crime perpetuated by a charming cad, she must defy her boss, jeopardize her newly won stability, and reject her friends. Her namesake, Joan of Arc, provides a model of courage and insight. If she risks danger and uncertainty, will she discover that independence and adulthood can be both enjoyable and fulfilling? Does optimism beat pessimism? Who would have dreamed her final victory could solve a childhood puzzle while it brings her true love?

Tifferz Take-
Ms. McCune's debut novel is brilliant! I stayed up later than I intended to finish this romantic, laugh out loud story. It is a page turner that simply captivated me. I warmed to Joan and I felt she learned and grew throughout the story. My heart went out to Joan as she has some sad things happen in her life that she has to heal from and come to terms with. She also made me laugh so much. I loved it. Kevin the guy is a saint! Oh the things he puts up with. I like that he also wants what is best for Joan. I enjoyed the crime/ mystery aspect as well. I would highly recommend this delightful read. It has handful of swear words. But other than that it is clean. I wish Ms. McCune all the best in her career as an author!

Julie James!!!

I met author Julie James today and I must say she is simply fabulous and so cute! She was super sweet and it was great chatting with her. If you ever get the chance to meet her be sure and tell her hi from me!
If you have not checked out her books they are a must read!
I love all her books. I stayed up till 2 am reading them! They all are packed with witty banter! One of the best parts is our  hero's and heroine's don't like each other and boy does the sexual tension fly off the pages. I love all  the books so much more since meeting Ms. James and seeing how great she is. So here they are go get them!

The following book is a stand alone book!
Blurb-
Nothing fazes Taylor Donovan. In the courtroom, she never lets the opposition see her sweat. In her personal life, she never lets any man rattle her- not even her cheating ex-fiance. So when she's assigned to coach People's "Sexiest Man Alive" for his role in his next big legal thriller, she refuses to fall for the Hollywood heartthrob's charms. Even if he is the Jason Andrews.

Jason Andrews is used to having women fall at his feet. When Taylor Donovan gives him the cold shoulder, he's thrown for a loop. She's unlike any other woman he's ever met: uninterested in the limelight, seemingly immune to his advances, and shockingly capable of saying no to him. She's the perfect challenge. And the more she rejects him, the more he begins to realize she may just be his perfect match

The following book is a stand alone book!

Blurb-
When it comes to the laws of attraction, there are no rules. The battle between the sexes is about to make these two lawyers hot under the collar. Opposites collide when two lawyers try to make partner at the same firm. Payton Kendall is a feminist to the bone. Cocky J.D. Jameson was born privileged. But when they're asked to join forces on a major case, they gain a new found awareness of each other's personal assets. The partnership spot will be offered to only one of them, though. The competition heats up. Sparks fly. Let the games begin.

The following three book are a series but could also stand alone:

book 1

Blurb-
Of all the hotel rooms rented by all the adulterous politicians in Chicago, female Assistant U.S. Attorney Cameron Lynde had to choose the one next to 1308, where some hot-and-heavy lovemaking ends with a death. And of all the FBI agents in Illinois, it had to be Special Agent Jack Pallas who gets assigned to this high-profile homicide. The same Jack Pallas who still blames Cameron for a botched crackdown three years ago- and for nearly ruining his career.

Work with Cameron Lynde? Are they kidding? Maybe, Jack thinks, this is some kind of welcome-back prank after his stint away from Chicago. But it's no joke; the pair is going to have to put their rocky past behind them and focus on the case at hand. That is, if they can cut back on the razor-sharp jibes- and smother the flame of their sizzling-hot sexual tension.

book 2:
Blurb-
Jordan Rhodes is invited to all of Chicago's best parties, but there's only one the FBI wants to crash. To get her brother out of jail, she agrees to take Agent McCall as her date. But when the mission gets botched, requiring their "relationship" to continue, it starts to feel less like an investigation-and a lot like something else.

book 3:
Blurb-
HE’S PLAYING GAMES

Though Rylann Pierce tried to fight the sparks she felt for billionaire heir Kyle Rhodes the night they met, their sizzling chemistry was undeniable. But after being stood up on their first date, Rylann never expected to see him again. So when she finds herself face to face with Kyle in a courthouse nine years later, she’s stunned. More troubling to the beautiful Assistant U.S. Attorney is that she’s still wildly attracted to him.

BUT SHE’S MAKING THE RULES

Just released from prison, Kyle Rhodes isn’t thrilled to be the star witness in a high-profile criminal case — but when Rylann comes knocking at his door, he finds she may be the one lawyer he can’t say no to. Still as gorgeous and sharp-tongued as ever, she lays down the law: she doesn’t mix business with pleasure. But Kyle won’t give up on something he wants — and what he wants is the one woman he’s never forgotten...

Spotlight

Professional football players, corporate tobacco advertisers, volatile gasoline prices, and the Cold War all share an undetected commonality—each is an intrinsic part of economics. Though not obvious to the naked eye, each entity shares a pattern with the others. This book helps to shed light on these mutual characteristics. It is an extensive compilation of theories interpreted using supportive examples.

A person with a professional degree graduates from high school at age eighteen. At an average of eight years to fully earn their education, the age they start a professional position is twenty-six. They must also factor in the debt of $150,000 that will have to be paid back for their education. If the person works the same number of hours per year and retires at the same age as a person with less than a high school diploma, the average lifetime earnings of a person with a professional degree is $3,115,080 after educational debt repayment. This is a 287 percent lifetime increase for an eight-year average investment in human capital. If that isn’t a worthwhile payout, I don’t know what is!

Economics is an enthralling science that encompasses our actions, thoughts, and emotional rationality every day in the unconscious. This book dissects economic theory into bite-size, entertaining snippets that anyone can understand and apply to their daily routines. It is a compelling depiction of history, business, pop culture, and social movements intertwined with relevant economic trends. Economics is part of daily life, and this book challenges readers to question how and why people make decisions by adding a simple twist on normalcy.

An Unlikely Alliance by Rachel Van Dyken

blurb-

Spoiled New York rogue Royce Mc Arthur lives a charmed life. He sees no reason to settle down, until his mother issues her decree that he must grow up, find a wife and produce some grandchildren, preferably before she dies of old age. But his choices are quite limited considering the only women of his acquaintance are ones of ill repute.
Meeting the beautiful Evelyn DeJarlias at a ball gives him hope he may have found the one. Her southern blue collar outspokenness and lack of refinement draws him like a moth to a flame. Unfortunately, she does not find him nearly as endearing -- consistently refusing his lavish gifts and his attentions, she poses a challenge he simply cannot ignore.

When his mother and her widowed father begin to keep company together secretly, it provides the perfect excuse for him to spend time with Miss DeJarlias. But figures from Royces past threaten to destroy the blossoming love between the couple. Evelyn must decide if she is willing to trust the man or hold his past indiscretions against him.

Tifferz Take-
I really liked this read. Ms. Van Dyken really knows how to create a fun read that you can't possibly put down. I liked how Evelyn has a just tell it like it is attitude. Oh, the things she says. I was smiling and laughing  throughout the story. Royce is so spoiled but I liked him as well. They are a fun pair. This story also has a secondary romance in the story. Royces mother and Evelyn's father are really fun.
I only wish that Ms. Van Dyken had Evelyn hold out a little bit with the conflict that arises. I think she forgave him to quickly. But that is just me. I would have also liked to know the year that the story took place Other than that a wonderful read for an afternoon. This is a clean read for those interested and it contains No swearing or sex.

The Sun Zebra  is a collection of short stories about the "adventures in living" of an unusual little girl named Nell, her mother, Rhonda, and Nell's father who is the narrator of the stories. The stories deal with how the world of adults and its hard realities intersects with the magical carefree world of children. Guest Post By Bert Auski

It's impossible to ignore the impact of ebooks.

Bookstores are feeling the effects of iPads, Nooks and Kindles. And so are writers.

Rewind 20 years of the publishing industry. If you had aspirations to write, your options were limited to traditional publishing. Many writers toiled in obscurity before hitting it. How many gave it up before that? Most writers enjoy the craft of weaving a story and letting the characters take their places on the stage of their mind. But sharing that experience with readers is part of the joy.

When a manuscript sits in a drawer, the fruit withers.

I'm part of the indie movement. I didn't eschew traditional publishing. They never asked me to join. Twenty years ago, I would have just boarded up the doors and hung a sign in the window.

OUT OF BUSINESS.

I've thoroughly enjoyed indie publishing. I've designed the cover and the interior. I've done all the editing. I've done all the marketing.

The downside? I have to design the cover and interior, do all the editing and all the marketing. At least I don't have to share the wealth. What little there is.

Amanda Hocking, indie writer turned traditional, said it best. I just want to write.

But there's options, that's the exciting part. I can't reach a fraction of the audience as an indie writer. But when I do connect with someone, when they tell me I'm their favorite author, when they tell me my story made them cry... it is soooo worth it.

There are indie writers out there making some noise. I hope to add to that.

Spell Check by Ariella Moon

Blurb-

Ever since Evie’s photojournalist dad died, paralyzing fear prevents her from picking up a camera. If Evie can’t pull it together, she’ll lose her position as Yearbook Photo Editor and suffer academic failure. Even worse, Evie risks losing Jordan, her secret crush. Despite a falling out, Evie never forgot Jordan. Now they are lab partners and the chemistry definitely sparks between them. But Evie’s supposed friend, Parvani, wants Jordan for herself. Parvani possesses a brimstone-hissing spell book. Soon the moon will be in the optimum phase for a binding love spell. To save Jordan, Evie must join forces with Salem, the school Goth. The clock is ticking. Can Evie get her mojo back in time to check this spell?

Tifferz Take-

Ms. Moon has crafted a spellbinding story. I was entranced within the first chapter, The story moves along at a nice pace and never drags. I liked the plot of the story and felt happy at the end of the story. This is a sweet romance that had moments I found myself laughing out loud! My son looked over and asked what was so funny. I explained  and he laughed as well. My heart went out to Evie, her mom and Jordan at times. They have to deal with some hard things. I enjoyed the differences between Parvani, Evie, Salem and then Jordan and Zhu.  I liked the real life elements that went into this story. I also loved the magic. What to do when a spell goes wrong? Read the book to find out. I would recommend this clean free of swearing and any sex book.  I hope that Ms. Moon has many more stories to share with us.
I hope you enjoy this read as much as I did.

The Shelter of His Arms by J. Adams

Blurb-

Lani's battered heart needs to heal. Will Chrispin's love be strong enough to heal it? And will Lani have the courage to embrace the passion she has longed for now that it is hers for the taking?

The Shelter of His Arms is the first emotion-driven romance in the Passionate Hearts Novelette series.

Tifferz Take-
The Shelter of His Arms is an emotional read that will touch your heart. I felt for Lani and the choices she has made and the aftermath of those choices. I liked Chrispin and how was so tender with Lani. A wonderful novelette that was just the pick me up I needed! Another exceptional read from J. Adams.

Socialpunk Blog Tour

Socialpunk Description:

Ima would give anything to escape The Dome and learn what’s beyond its barriers, but the Chicago government has kept all its citizens on lockdown ever since the Scorched Years left most of the world a desert wasteland. When a mysterious group of hooded figures enters the city unexpectedly, Ima uncovers a plot to destroy The Dome and is given the choice between escaping to a new, dangerous city or staying behind and fighting a battle she can never win.

Excerpt #1: Prologue

After playing God for six years with the world he created, he couldn’t control any of his subjects, none at all. Over the years, he had watched them evolve and become the sum of their own choices rather than the sum of his; and for that, he regretted ever giving them life.

A small, blinking red light from just inside his eyelid reminded him of the news they sent him earlier that morning. The company had cancelled his funding and would shut down his project within three months. According to them, the project cost too much and took up too much space, and the inconclusive results couldn’t be published reputably, now or in the future.

Six years of his work, tens of thousands of lives at stake—and he could do nothing to save any of it. He bowed his head, letting his chin rest on the rim of his breakfast smoothie. The smoothie reeked of powder—crushed pills—but he supposed he had better get used to it. He wouldn’t be able to afford the luxury of real food after they canned him.

He closed his eyes and called up the camera view of one of his favorites, number 3281. She fascinated him; he couldn’t deny it. When he had designed her, her pre-teen rebelliousness lit fire in her eyes. A survivor, he’d thought. He’d meant for her to have it all—to grow up, to get married to the love of her life, and to have a beautiful family of her own someday.

But he had only given her sadness so far. Instead of creating a strict father, he had given her an abusive one. Instead of creating a loving boyfriend, he had given her a friend who could never love her. And instead of creating a strong, proud mother, he had given her a meek one, who watched the whole thing unfold and did nothing about it.

He looked at his last and final creation sitting in the chair across from him—his own son, not awakened yet. The law forbade him to have any children of his own, so this boy would substitute.

But he had done the unthinkable with this creation—he had bestowed on it his own thoughts, emotions, and decision-making processes. He’d given the boy his own mind, his own physical characteristics, his own wants and desires.

He had never done so with any of the others because of the dangers of investing too heavily in any one of his subjects. But who could he kid? He had not stayed objective thus far, watching some of his subjects more closely than others, wishing for the happiness of some at the expense of others. He had become an abomination, a monster of his own doing, who had created subjects only to watch them suffer.

He couldn’t forgive himself; not now, not ever. His eyes lingered on the vial that sat next to his breakfast smoothie, that he’d stowed away for the day when they destroyed all his work, his entire world. He would save it, tuck it away for now, for as long as he could protect them. When things spun out of his control, he would drink it and end himself the way he had ended them.

In the ancient stories, gods frequently gave their sons as gifts. Now, he would give his son as a gift to her, number 3281. So she could be happy in her last months on earth, before they destroyed her with the rest of them.

Excerpt #2: Food-related

Twelve cups of water sat on the table, four for each of them. Next to each cup sat a pill—yellow for fat, red for carbs, blue for protein, and green for vitamins.

Vaughn took the red pill, ripped it in half like a pack of sugar, and poured it into his cup. He set his cup into a contraption on the table and it whirled and hissed. When the machine finished, the cup had a pink, swirly liquid inside.

Nahum looked at the four cups in distaste.

“Not up to your standards?” Vaughn asked, shooting his drink. He swallowed the mixture in one large gulp. “I would get you something else, but we’re rebuilding our hash. We can’t afford real food, plus it’s bad for you anyway. Extremely difficult to maintain a balanced diet.”

“Synthetic food can’t cost that much,” Nahum countered. He grinned. “We had it in our little fake world, at least.”

Vaughn chuckled. “Synthetic food is even worse for you than real food. Shortens your life. We stopped eating that stuff at the turn of the century. It gave people long-term hyperactivity, which can kill you. LTH took out a lot of the population, kind of like cancer in your day, except a bigger deal because the population had dwindled so low already. Plus, people live indefinitely now.”

Nahum’s nose twitched as he laughed. “People don’t live indefinitely.”

But Vaughn looked genuinely surprised. “Of course we do. Have you seen anyone who looks over the age of twenty-five to you?”

“What does that mean, though?” Ima asked out of curiosity. “How could you live indefinitely? You may not look older, but you still age.”

Vaughn grinned. “Like I said before—there’s a lot you don’t understand about this world.”

Excerpt #3: Fashion-related

A woman with long purple eyelashes, who kind of reminded Ima of a butterfly, brushed by Ima with tattooed art entirely covering both her arms. One of the tattoos started out as a young boy who grew just a little older with each second, until he looked like a man. To Ima’s amazement, the tattoo played like a home video.

Ima looked at Vaughn for explanation. “How—?”

“Pixel skin-grafts,” Vaughn whispered into ima’s ear. “Some people do their entire bodies in them. Doesn’t do much in terms of protection, but lets you change your outfit on a Clout.”

Sweet 21 Birthday Ball by J. Adams

Blurb-
When Italian pastry chef, Marcello Giannini took the train to visit his parents, he could never have guess how much this one trip would change the course of his life.

Dominique Jensen has only loved one man her entire life, and she has been unable to open her heart to another. Discouraged, she wonders if the dreams and wishes she has fostered for so long will ever come true.

But how long is too long to wait for love?

Tifferz Take-
I am a fan of J. Adams and it seems each of her books gets better than the last. I really think you can't go wrong with this sweet short story about a love that  grows as they grow older. If you are in the mood for something sweet this will leave you satisfied. It was fun to watch Dominique grow up and Marcello's love change as she did. I loved all the baking involved. Oh and Marcello has a talent for meaningful gifts! The flow of the story was flawless. I hope that Ms. Adams will one day make this a full length novel. Congrats J. Adams on another fantastic read. Loved it and will be reading this many more times.

The Last Seer and the Tomb of Enoch by Ashland Menshouse

Can a ghost haunt more than your home? Can a Sasquatch track more than footprints?

Aubrey Taylor’s quaint and cozy life in the subdued, Appalachian town of Lake Julian had never been exceptional. Shouldered by his lifelong friends, Buzz Reiselstein and Rodriqa Auerbach, he quietly endured the puerile punishments of a persistent pack of pesky bullies that included the most-feared kid in school, Magnos Strumgarten, and his own obnoxiously, well-accomplished brother, Gaetan. Comfortable in his humdrum niche of the absolutely average, Aubrey never pushed back.

Until…fate dug a little too deep…and the unseen darkness of unspoken places rattled his mediocrity.

When spurious specters and elusive mountain men battle for a tomb of Watchers, buried in ages past, only those who choose to look beyond the surface feel the grip of the ancients’ revenge. Unusual disappearances, a colorful cadre of insightful townsfolk and a whirlwind of blunders and mishaps exposes  the struggling forces that transform Aubrey and his friends into more than spectators amidst the oldest war of all. Prepare yourself to see the unseen as you’ve never seen it before.
The Last Seer and the Tomb of Enoch is Ashland Menshouse’s debut novel. This adventure blend of science fiction and spiritual fantasy explores the stifling angst and carefree joy of adolescence in a world torn between tradition and the post-modern march of progress.

Ashland Menshouse received a Bachelor’s degree from Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky. He obtained a doctoral degree from the University of Kentucky and completed post-doctoral studies at Emory University. He currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia, where he spends most of his time working with ill and injured children. Current projects include this novel’s sequel, The Last Guardian and the Keeper of the Magi, which is nearly ready for publication, and the third novel The Last Nazirite and the Shadowlight, which will be completed by the end of 2013.

Aegean Intrigue by Patricia Kiyono

Blurb-
Someone has been stealing priceless Greek artifacts and it's Alex Leonidis' job to uncover the thief. His prime suspect is beautiful archaeological graduate student, Francie Vasileiou. His plan is to join in an archaeological dig and catch her in the act. All he has to do is keep his mind on his job, and not on the way his lovely suspect warms his heart. He's learned the hard way not to trust fragile-looking women who seem to need his help.

Francie wants to get her PhD and become an archaeologist, like her famous father. The sudden invitation to participate in a dig on the beautiful Greek island of Paros is a wonderful opportunity. She has no time for distractions like Alex, the handsome Project Director. Experience has taught her to stay clear of handsome, charismatic Greek men.

On the shores of the Aegean Sea, Alex and Francie work together, searching for treasures from Greece's past. While pursuing their goals, they discover some of the truths they had believed to be carved in stone may have been flawed.

Tifferz Take-

Aegean is a mystery with a sweet romance. I was swallowed up in this story within the first few pages. I liked Francie from the get go and what is not to like about Alex? I can't think of anything. The plot of the story is intriguing and well developed. This was the perfect escape for me that I refused to put down. Another book I will read again! I kinda feel like going and digging for something! I only wish the story was longer. I will be searching for more from Ms. Kiyono.

Check out Blood Oath by T.L. Clarke

Summary of my book "Blood Oath":Link to "Blood Oath" online (Goodreads): http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13425122-blood-oath

Welcome to the dark and powerful world of the Eternals. My name is Gabrielle Martin. And before I discovered that I was born into a secret society called the Eternals-blood oath Warriors sworn to track and slay the dark and evil creatures that walk the shadows of the earth-there were only three things that I truly cared about: one, starting my freshman year at Vineswell Academy; two, learning how to use my fledgling supernatural powers; and three, not getting killed by expelled Eternal Warrior Hannah. But that was way before the blinders were ripped from my eyes, only to discover that everything I had known to be true was a lie...essentially smoke and mirrors to disguise a deadly world filled with half-human, half-vampire Underworld Warriors with one only goal-to kill all Eternal Warriors. Now, after a massive attack on Vineswell Academy that left no survivors, I am reporting to Transcendence Hall to start official Eternal Warrior training, which would have been smooth sailing except for the two gorgeous Eternals, Chaos and Justice, who are out to ruin my life, and an Eternal prophecy that puts me smack in the middle of saving the planet. So the question is, can I actually survive this mess? I'll let you be the judge of that...

Taking Chances by Tara Manderino

Blurb:
A gung ho PR person in charge of getting a reclusive country western singer to perform live at a small function is responsible for him possibly losing his ranch for children. Tyler Davidson would rather deal with a large concert hall audience than come face to face with a few people. Such thoughts are beyond Abie Halloway’s thinking, but as she learns to understand what the ranch means to Tyler and comes to care for him in this sweet romance / inspirational, she realizes she does not want to be the one to cause his downfall.

Tifferz Take:
Taking Chances is a sweet tender romance that makes you feel good. Things are not always as they appear. Abie is quick to assume things and it was refreshing to watch how things came about. I found the dynamics between Tyler and Abie. The flow of the story was flawless and I liked how Tyler and Abie grew as individuals and as a couple. Tyler had skeletons in his closet and Abie has her own issues to work on. I did feel that Abie needed to open up a little more about her childhood with Tyler. I would like to see a story about Josh and I would like to see what happens to Ted. Then we could also catch up with Tyler and Abie! Just an idea Ms. Manderino. If you have not read this story you are missing out. I will be reading this one again and would recommend it. No swearing, but does have some kissing!

Blurb-
Can a rejected wife conquer self-doubt, trap a criminal, and win love?

Bonnie McCune credits her tenacity for the successes in her life, and A Saint Comes Stumbling In is proof. Since fifth grade, she has been determined to be a writer. This is her first published novel, but her interest in writing led to her career in nonprofits doing public and community relations and marketing. She’s worked for libraries, directed a small arts organization and managed Denver's beautification program. Simultaneously, she’s been a free lance writer with publications in local, regional, and specialty publications for news and features. Her main interest now is fiction writing, and her pieces have won several awards. Her civic involvement includes grass-roots organizations, political campaigns, writers' and arts' groups, and children's literacy. For years, she entered recipe contests and was a finalist once to the Pillsbury Cook Off. A special love is live theater. Had she been nine inches taller and thirty pounds lighter, she might have been an actress. For reasons unknown (an unacknowledged optimism?), she believes that one person can make a difference in this world. McCune lives in Denver, Colorado, where she’s been married to the same man forever, has two children and three grandchildren, and is working on a humorous novel about aging.

Shaken (Mind Reader) by Susan Hatler

Susan Hatler: http://susanhatler.com/
 Blurb-
High school junior, Kylie Bates, can suddenly read minds. When she touches people’s hands, she’s able to see their deepest thoughts. As if that’s not freaky enough, her dad sends her to help hottie detective, Sam Williams, track down a missing girl. Way too much pressure, especially for a girl who can’t watch Scream without getting nightmares. Then, finding the missing girl leads to much more than Kylie’s prepared for. Like discovering that her dad has been lying to her. That she has a family she never knew about. That the girls have powers similar to hers. Oh yeah, and that someone is out to get her. When the detective’s teenage wanna-be-cop cousin, Trip Williams, approaches Kylie at school insisting she help him solve the case, she discovers Trip might be the only one she can trust, and the only one to help her unravel the secrets behind her mysterious gift.

 Tifferz Take-
I am a big fan of Susan Hatler's and was so excited to read Shaken. If you enjoy a YA Romance jam packed with adventure and the unknown. I would recommend this fantastic read. I personally think it would be so cool to be able to read others minds without the side effects that Kylie experences! This story was well paced and I found Trip and Kylie to be very fun. Trip is a good guy. He wants to protect Kylie. I think that Drew's gift is pretty neat. One of my favorite parts is when Kylie reads Trip's mind. I was surprised quite a few times with the unexpected. I did think the end was a little rushed and would have liked Kylie and her dad to have a chat with questions answered. But we do get all our answers. I am hoping that Ms. Hatler will be making this a series! I think maybe we could have Drew's story and be able to catch up with Trip and Kylie! Just an idea. A fantastic story that is clean and gets your heart pumping! Great job Ms. Halter. I can't wait to get my hands on your next book.

Domingo's Angel by Jenny Twist

Blurb-
When Angela turns up in a remote Spanish mountain village, she is so tall and so thin and so pale that everyone thinks she is a ghost or a fairy or the dreadful mantequero that comes in the night and sucks the fat from your bones.

But Domingo knows better. “Soy Angela,” she said to him when they met – “I am an angel.” Only later did he realise that she was telling him her name and by then it was too late and everyone knew her as Domingo’s Angel.

This is the story of their love affair. But it is also the story of the people of the tiny mountain village – the indomitable Rosalba - shopkeeper, doctor, midwife and wise woman, who makes it her business to know everything that goes on in the village; Guillermo, the mayor, whose delusions of grandeur are rooted in his impoverished childhood; and Salva the Baker, who risked his life and liberty to give bread to the starving children.

The events in this story are based on the real experiences of the people of the White Villages in Southern Spain and their struggle to keep their communities alive through the years of war and the oppression of Franco’s rule.

Tifferz Take-
This is a great story about love, loss, abuse, neglect, lies, suffering, forgiveness and friendship. I enjoyed the romance and history in the story. I also liked how Ms. Twist was realistic and did not sugar coat things.  I liked how the story was not only about Angela and Domingo's. It was fun to escape to the village and feel a connection with them. Ms. Twist has written a wonderful story. I only have two things that bothered me. First was I did not like how it changed from one perspective to another, it got a bit confusing. The second was the ending. It felt very abrupt. Other than that I felt like it was a lovely escape about Angela leaving England to make a life in Spain.

The Key to Love by Meg Mims

Blurb-
Artist Jennette Jacobson clashes with a handsome visitor at a gallery show. He claims that artwork is just “more junk to dust.” Ouch. When she finds a small metal object on the floor, she uses it later in a new collage. Her world soon crumbles with family problems and a friend’s betrayal. And wouldn’t you know that the same hunky guy claims he lost an important key the night of the show! When Steve Harmon offers to buy Jenn’s work, she refuses to sell. He’ll just trash it to free his precious key. Or is it possible that key will unlock her future happiness?
 Tifferz Take-
Ms. Mims creates a wonderful love story filled with emotional characters who are dealing with real life struggles. I found myself relating well with both Jennette and Steve. Jennette deals with a unexpected betrayal. Steve is dealing with a the death of his mother.I was wooed by all the deliveries, very sweet. I thought Steve's dad was so fun at dinner. I was left with a smile on my face but, I really want more. I think Ms. Mims should write a sequel. I want to see how things turn out. This is a fun read that I would read again. It is clean no swearing or sex. Just kissing!
