Life on the Edge by Jennifer Comeaux

Nineteen-year-old Emily is new to pairs skating, but she and her partner Chris have a big dream–to be the first American team to win Olympic gold. Their young coach Sergei, who left Russia after a mysterious end to his skating career, believes they can break through and make history.

Emily and Chris are on track to be top contenders at the 2002 Winter Games. But when forbidden feelings spark between Emily and Sergei, broken trust and an unexpected enemy threaten to derail Emily's dreams of gold.

Tifferz Take-
I enjoy watching ice skating movies and the Olympics. Life on the Edge is a compelling novel that takes you into the lives of a pairs figure skating and we get an insider knowledge of the highs and lows of the sport. Emily and Sergei have some choices to make on the relationship the have and where they want it to go. It was fun to see this unfold. Sergei has some secrets that come back to haunt him. Emily has a lot to take in and can she forgive Sergei? I like the close relationship Emily shares with her family. But, not family is perfect and I found Emily's stubbornness a important key to her success in her personal and professional life. I think that Ms. Comeaux did an extraordinary job of describing the skating performances. I felt like I was at the rink watching it happen. Life on the Edge is a fun modern day romance with a hit of mystery and a really creepy bad guy. This is a clean read no sex or bad language. I am still thinking about this story several days later. I will be on the lookout for more from Ms. Comeaux. Enjoy!

When the angelic Duke of Tempest, Sebastian St. James, appeared unexpectedly at his boyhood friend’s home, he had but one goal: Find a suitable wife as soon as possible. However, his impeccable reputation made him a prime target for ambitious mothers of debutante daughters. He needed a plan.
Help came in the form of an unlikely alliance with Miss Emma Gates, the beautiful daughter of a wealthy viscount, who has deemed herself on the shelf, and only wants to marry in order to appease her parents. Together they could sort through the mire of would-be mates to find their perfect matches. That is, if they could keep their hands off each other long enough to pursue likely candidates.
When a man from Emma’s past makes a play for her hand, the truth about her life threatens to destroy Sebastian’s reputation, a reputation he has carefully guarded since his youth. In the end, the Angel Duke has to make a choice that will end up changing his reputation forever.

Tifferz Take:

I find the cover simply amazingalong with the story . Ms Van Dyken's writing is simply lovely. I really felt bad for Emma as her parents don't even believe her when tragedy strikes. This story is filled with sharp banter between Emma and Sebastian, laughter and the sexual tension that flys off the pages. Both Emma and Sebastian have a past they need to over come and if they could confide in each other. I loved how Nicholas and Sara always come to Emma's defense and it was simply priceless when Nicholas punches Sebastian. I loved how Emma would stick her tongue out when no one was looking. The grape scene was a crack up. Sebastian's grandmother has a great personality and will have you laughing and wanting her forward ideas to come to pass. This romance has a touch of mystery to it as you try to figure out why and who ruined Emma's past. Oh, and it is clean!

Since the 1970s humans have forced supernaturals to live in caged cities. Silver brands embedded in their foreheads identify them by species: a full moon for Vampires, a crescent moon for Shifters, a pair of wings for Fairies, and the list goes on, for each supernatural species has been tagged and categorized by humans. Lanore Vesta is marked with a silver X, the brand of Mixbreeds, second-class citizens shunned by society. She stays to herself, revealing her ability to create fire only during emergencies. All she wants to do is graduate college and stop having to steal to survive. But when she stumbles upon a murder in progress, she catches the attention of a supernatural killer. Now all she wants is to stop finding dead bodies in her apartment. Enlisting help from her Were-cheetah ex-boyfriend MeShack and a new mysterious friend named Zulu, she is steered through the habitat’s raunchy nightlife. But their presence sometimes proves to be more burden than help, as they fight for her attention. While the corpses pile up, and the scent of blood fills the air, Lanore is left wondering: will she find the psycho or die trying?

Exchange by Rachel Rossano

He offers her escape, but at what cost?

Isolated on a distant planet, she is incarcerated for a crime she doesn’t recall. She has no name, no idea where she came from, or why she is injected with drugs daily to hold these vital facts from her grasp. Despite small rebellions, she wastes away, worn and losing hope of ever being whole again.

Then he arrives. Claiming to hold the answers burned daily from her brain, he offers her a way out. But at what cost?

Tifferz Take-

This was a satisfying futuristic short story by Ms. Rossano. Myah is captured and Ruhan is going to do everything in his power to save her. This is a story about true love and doing what is best for the one you love, rather than yourself. I would enjoy reading more about the characters. I would be thrilled to read Ramend's story! This was just what I need today. A romance filled with action and adventure in the future.

This is a clean not swearing or sexual content. Just some fantastic kissing!

In a time when castles were the strongest…in a place where combat was face to face…there was a man on the run. Labren was not his true name and he admitted it freely. In a time when slavery was a place where kings were all-powerful…there was a slave in the right place at the right time. Eve, a slave from birth, was asked to trust this stranger who refused to give his true name. Eve saved a stranger’s life. In return, he offered her the opportunity of freedom. She did not know what would happen to her if she chose to accept his proposal, but she did know the consequences of rejecting it.

Tifferz Take-
This is the first book in this series. Within the first chapter I was hooked and refused to put it down till I was finished. I felt a strong connection to Eve and felt bad for Labren. Ms. Rossano has a way with words that makes you feel like you are experencing everything right along with Eve and Labren. I liked that Ms. Russano did not have Eve trust Labren right away. I like that Eve had to work on her trust issues and her other old habits don't disappear over night. I also felt bad for Eve the fears she has to face. Lebren is a great hero and I loved when he let's Ulysses have it. This is a sweet romance with some adventure in the mix. This is an overall an awesome story. I am giddy to have discovered a new author. It is clean and no swearing. I can't wait to get my hands on book two THE ODORIC SAGA The King of Anavrea.

Spur of the Moment by Candace Browen Early

Book Description
Best-selling author Bronwyn Chase never quite fit in with the 21st century. On a publicity trip to New York City, a mysterious woman claiming to be a mystic from Bronwyn’s past gives her a silver knight’s spur. Asked to save Euric, a man she never knew existed, Bronwyn finds herself transported to 12th-century Cornwall. Landing at the feet of an entranced Euric, she discovers the instant connection she feels to him comes from a midsummer rite gone horribly awry on the eve of her birth. Forced to face a dark wicce who plans to use Euric for her own nefarious ends, Bronwyn summons her own mystical birthright to free him.

This book not only looks fantastic it is! This is a unique time travel love story that will stick with you. I was awed by the powerful love that Bronwyn and Euric share and the connection they have. I honestly with I could hear my husbands thoughts in my head. That would be so cool! This story is filled with adventure twisted together with many up and downs and the unexpected. This book leaves you with a smile on your face. I found the moment very moving when Bronwyn meets her mother. This story does contain a extremely evil mixed with a hint of crazy villainess. I look forward to Ms. Early's next book as I am sure it will be as extraordinary as this one.
This does contain a handful of swear words and only reference to sex no detail.

Wife by Wednesday by Catherine Bybee

Blake Harrison:
Rich, titled, and charming… And in need of a wife by Wednesday so he turns to Sam Elliot who isn’t the business man he expected. Instead, Blake is faced with Samantha Elliot, engaging and spunky with a voice men call 900 numbers to hear.

Samantha Elliot:
Owner of Alliance, her matchmaking firm, and not on the marital menu... That is until Blake offers her ten million dollars for a one-year contract. All she needs to do is keep her attraction to her husband to herself and avoid his bed. But Blake’s toe-curling kisses and charm prove too difficult to combat. Now she needs to protect her heart so she can walk away when their mercenary life together is over.

Tifferz Take-
I purchased this off smashwords. I started this book after I took my son to school and could not put it down. I am new to Catherine Bybee's writing but she has a loyal fan. You can not beat the price of 99 cents. Worth every penny. I like the cover. I am a sucker for wedding dress covers. Now on to the story. Well written and I loved Blake and Samantha. The chemistry was popping off the pages. The plot was realistic and I liked the little mystery involved in this romance. This contains sex after marriage. This story holds a few surprise towards the end that were unexpected and added to the plot thickening. I always love a happy ending and Ms. Bybee delivered. I would highly recommend this read. I would love to see Carter's story!
