Shadows over Taralon by Jacquelyn Webb

Blurb-

Jenny Fleming prides herself on being the perfect temporary employee who works at Taralon to do bookkeeping and light housework, however Taralon represents a challenge. Why is the prosperous-looking property running at a loss? Before she can find any answers someone tries to murder her, and she is suspected of doping a racehorse.
Wayne Paterson has to discover where his new employee fits into Taralon and if the racehorse doping and the cattle stealing was really her fault. The only thing he is sure of is that she has stolen his heart with her courage and her sweet smile. How can Wayne trust her again if she truly is guilty?
And if she’s innocent, how can she prove it?

Tifferz Take-

I am new to Jaquelyn Webb and her writing. I absolutely get excited every time I discover a new author! I was not sure how things would work out for Jenny being so strong willed in the opening chapter of the book. But I liked her spit fire temperament and could relate to her being strong willed.
Jenny and Wayne have sparks flying from the first chapter and it is fun to watch them interact! I was roped into this heart warming story filled with mystery, romance, a horse race and some foul play. Throw in a touch of misunderstanding and some rustlers and it all ties together to give us a happy ending.
I loved the setting out on a ranch with horses. It reminded me of when I was younger and had a horse his name was Socks. I loved riding and taking time to just enjoy nature and think. This book brought bake some cherished memories for me.
I really did not want this story to end and while we get our happy ending. I felt it wrapped up a little too quickly and I wanted more closure. Maybe just an epilogue with them a few years down the road. That is me just being selfish and wanting more!
This is a clean read with no sex or swearing. Just some good old fashioned kissing! I can't wait to get my little hands on another story by Ms. Webb. A well written story that had me experiencing a wide range of emotions. I would recommend this read!
I hope you all enjoy it!

The Apple Tree by Lynette Sofras

Blurb-
Escaping from your past is never easy, as junior hospital doctor Juliet discovers when she tries to start afresh, leaving both her marriage and her career behind. Love blossoms rapidly when she meets the mysterious and forthright gardener, Nicholas, who seems to herald the new beginning she craves.
The past quickly dissolves into insignificance as their all-consuming romance propels them forward and Julie has to learn the price of happiness in the most cruel way possible. But will she be able face the painful roots of her past in order for her future to grow strong and healthy?

Tifferz Take-
I consumed The Apple Tree by Ms. Sofras in one evening. Once I started on this delicious story. I simply couldn't help myself I had to finish it. The flow of the story was fantastic and Jules character was well developed. I would have liked a little more information on Nicholas. This story felt as if it was real to me. Like Jules was my friend. I found the conflict impressive and the resolution splendid as people have to humble themselves and take some risks. I really did not want this story to end and would have liked more. This is a clean read no sex (just reference to) and no swearing! I will be on the lookout for more from Ms. Sofras.

The Mercenary's Marriage by Rachel Rossano

Blurb-
Trained as a mercenary soldier, Darius Laris was a man of decisive action. He was also a man of compassion. Seeing a young slave woman about to become the spoils of war, he claimed her for his own. Marrying her before God and king, he made her a free and respectable soldier's wife. Brice Ashlyn was born a slave. Abused and beaten, she learned quickly to avoid being noticed and to stay away from men. When her master's walls fell to enemy forces, she ran, but not fast enough. In Darius' offer she found deliverance, but experience had taught her to fear power such as his. Could she trust in his protection, or had she traded one form of slavery for another?

Tifferz Take-
I was taken in by the blurb and was not disappointed by Ms. Rossano talent to weave an amazing story. I was transported into the past when king's and queen's rule. I warmed to Darius and his rough yet gentle ways quickly. I loved Brice and how she struggled with trust. I felt her fears were real. Based on her past, which is not the prettiest childhood. My heart went out to her. I was glad that things did not instantly become perfect. I would have liked a little more attration between the two and more time spent together.
With danger lurking and traitors wanting to kill we get some mystery as well. I was surprised at how at who was the traitors were! This is a mystery, sweet (clean no sex or bad language) romance with grit. I was left wanting more so I felt the ending was a bit rushed. I would like to read Ewian's story. Hint, hint Ms. Rossano. I am still thinking about it two days later.

Forever by Cheri Schmidt

Blurb:
Danielle and Ethan may have solved their problem with vampires, but other magical beings have taken interest in the ones who discovered the cure.

On the run trying to escape a gaggle of evil pixies, a clan of creepy werewolves, a coven or two of wicked witches, and a school of lovely but malicious mermaids, they fight to have a normal life. But that isn't so easy when the only aid they have is from slightly dishonest fairies and flirtatious vampire bodyguards.

This is Danielle and Ethan's happily forever after....

Tifferz Take:
This is the third and final book in the Fateful series. You will need to read Fateful and Fractured first. We are taken on an adventure to solve Danielle and Ethan's problem of being hunted. We get to meet some interesting characters along the way. I was enchanted with the mermaids. I was amazed at the beauty of the witches, my fist thought when I hear the word witch is not beauty. I think of an old and ugly woman. Ms. Schmidt has weaved a story that kept me captivated and made these creatures her own. I would love to get my hands on some magical juice. Forever is a spellbinding read! I have really loved this series and as always it is sad to say goodbye. But, the good news is Ms. Schmidt has many more stories in store for us.

The Crown of Anavrea by Rachel Rassano

Facebook ~ http://www.facebook.com/pages/Rachel-Rossanos-Rambles/240421865704

Blurb-
In a time when castles were the strongest…in a place where combat was face to face…there was a man on the run. Labren was not his true name and he admitted it freely. In a time when slavery was legal...in a place where kings were all-powerful…there was a slave in the right place at the right time. Eve, a slave from birth, was asked to trust this stranger who refused to give his true name. Eve saved a stranger’s life. In return, he offered her the opportunity of freedom. She did not know what would happen to her if she chose to accept his proposal, but she did know the consequences of rejecting it.

Tifferz Take-
This is the first book in this series. Within the first chapter I was hooked and refused to put it down till I was finished. I felt a strong connection to Eve and felt bad for Labren. Ms. Rossano has a way with words that makes you feel like you are experencing everything right along with Eve and Labren. I liked that Ms. Russano did not have Eve trust Labren right away. I like that Eve had to work on her trust issues and her other old habits don't disappear over night. I also felt bad for Eve the fears she has to face. Lebren is a great hero and I loved when he let's Ulysses have it. This is a sweet romance with some adventure in the mix. This is an overall an awesome story. I am giddy to have discovered a new author. It is clean and no swearing. I can't wait to get my hands on book two THE THEODORIC SAGA The King of Anavrea.

Blurb-
April Edwards, a young widow, is content to manage a farm with her fourteen-year-old brother and a one-year-old daughter. Nothing, after all, could be worse than being married to her deceased husband. Nothing, that is, until her unscrupulous brother-in-law decides to marry her. With no other recourse, April and her brother concoct a plan--one that involves the unsuspecting doctor’s assistant, Joel Larson.

Joel Larson doesn't want to be married. In fact, he’s perfectly happy with things the way they are, but when he’s sent to check on April’s sick child, things take an unexpected turn for the worse. In one instant, he finds a gun and a mandate to marry April staring him in the face. Can a marriage that begins with a shotgun be just the thing Joel needs or has April just confined herself to another miserable marriage?

Tifferz Take-

I devoured this novel in one sitting and was swept back to 1878. Ms. Nordin has created a masterpiece that is truly original and her own. I felt like I was in the story right along with April and Joel. I feared along with April. I was proud of Joel and the choices he makes. He really is a good guy! That does not want to get married. Shotgun Groom is jam packed with humor, mystery and romance. (contains sexual situations within marriage) The plot is believable and the characters are very well drawn and so realistic they nearly jump off the pages . I found the whole story deeply satisfying. I am still thinking of this story days later.
This book is in a series but also stands alone perfectly.

Cedardale Ct by Nathan Lee Christensen.

Blurb-
Cedardale Court is a neo-gothic murder mystery with enough fools and old flames to keep you happily mixed up for most of a long weekend. When Canner Connelly and his daughter, Chloe, move in with their Uncle Henry, and a simple drainage problem turns a normal Sunday morning into a slightly darker affair, it's not easy to tell where everyone might end up, or if they'll even make it at all

Tifferz Take-

I started this book and just could not get into it. What I read was well written and the author captured detail. Just because I did not finish this book does not mean you will not love it. Maybe I will pick it back up another time and have better luck.
This book does contain swearing.

Accident waiting to Happen by Trinity Hart

Blurb-
She’s worth more to me dead than alive…

Devastated to learn her fiancé is nothing more than a con artist after her inheritance, Hope Pearson is seeking refuge at the Circle C ranch when her brakes give out, sending her careening into a gully and Caleb McBryde’s life.

Though her lines don’t appear cut, the ex Texas Ranger finds the circumstances surrounding her crash landing in Serenity Cove, Texas highly suspicious. For calamity seems to shadow the woman… One might say she’s An Accident Waiting to Happen.

Tifferz Take-

I really enjoyed this Christian inspired romance/mystery. I enjoyed how Ms. Hart made her characters very real and she tied things up nicely at the end. I like watching Hope grow in her life after the death of her parents. I loved how Caleb just told it how is. He is a straight shooter. He is a straight shooter. I was enjoyed trying to figure out who was after Hope. Ms. Hart wrapped up the story nicely. A great clean story no sex and no language for an afternoon. I will be looking for more reads from Ms. Hart.

I just wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year. Last year was filled with many great reads! I want to share one of the highlights. I had just got off a three hour flight with three kids and a hubby an hour before so I don't look my best but hey I got to meet her!!! And she signed all three books (Tiger's Curse, Tiger's Quest and Tiger's Voyage!) I brought with me! To top it off she new who I was. We have been emailing for several years. I have several more books I hope to get signed when she comes to Chicago in April! Maybe I will be lucky and get to go to lunch with her. Such a sweet down to earth woman! Love her and her Tigers series. Photos are below. I also want to thank you all for checking my blog and entering all the giveaways! I have many books to read and many to giveaway!
