To Win His Wayward Wife by Rose Gordon

Blurb-
Not to be outdone by her sisters' marriage-producing scandals, quiet and withdrawn Madison Banks quickly finds herself walking down the aisle to a man who has secretly loved her for years.

Her groom, however, has no idea how to show his new bride that he truly loves her and following a bungled wedding night, finds himself in a position to either win his wife once and for all or lose her forever.

Can he prove himself worthy of her? Will she accept his love? Or will jealousy and past insecurities tear the pair apart?

Tifferz Take-
I am loving Ms. Gordon's book covers so far and that includes this one. Love it! Okay on with the book. I felt for Madison. She has had to live with the consequences of her actions. Madison has secrets from her husband and it is partly due to trust issues. I enjoyed watching Madison's husband assume things. Typical man.It was great to see Madison learn to trust and heal from her past. This story touches on some heartache. But it has it's funny moments as well. I was cracking up when Madison's husband carries her out of the house to the carriage without her shoes. This book does contain a few swear words and a detailed description of the consummation of the marriage. If you don't care for that it is easily skimmed or skipped. This is a great ending to the series. These books also could stand alone. If you like regency pick this up!

Liberty for Paul by Rose Gordon

Blurb-
Liberty Banks loves revenge almost as much as she hates one Mister Paul Grimes, who, she considers to be the most improper creature she has ever clapped eyes upon. But when her plans for revenge against Paul go bust, she suddenly finds herself walking down the aisle to him.

Once married, a battle of the wills breaks out as each tries to reform the other. Liberty wants nothing more than to have a proper husband. Much to Liberty’s dismay, Paul will stop at nothing to have is all too proper wife do something--anything--to break the rules of society, specifically do the most improper thing which is to fall in love with the most improper man: her own husband.

Tifferz Take-
I absolutely can't take my eyes of this cover. I think it is so pretty! I can't wait to see the next one. It seems like each cover gets better than the last. Okay on with the review. I have a lot of respect for Liberty and all her reasons for being proper. But I enjoyed watching her cut loose. This is a fun story and had me hooked from the beginning. The answers I was looking for from book 1 were answered and it was great catching up with Brooke and Andrew from book 1. I like the Banks family the more I read about them. I enjoyed seeing Paul stoke Liberty's temper! Oh the things they do to each other! One my favorite part of the book was when Liberty's mom and sister Brooke explain what to expect from her wedding night. I was cracking up laughing. This book has a detailed description of the consummation of the marriage. This is easy to skip if you don't care for it.

Intentions of the Earl by Rose Gordon

Blurb-
Will he secure his future by ruining hers, or will she ruin his plans by securing him? A new twist on the old fortune hunter plot puts an impoverished earl in a position to gain his fortune only by ruining an innocent's reputation without offering marriage. The innocent he's selected, however, has no plans to settle for anything less than marriage and will go to almost any length to secure him.

When the impoverished Andrew Black, Earl of Townson, hits rock bottom, he makes an agreement that will end his eight year poverty streak once and for all. In order to gain his fortune he must do but one simple thing: ruin an innocent girl’s reputation enough to make her flee to America.

Brooke Banks isn’t interested in marriage, or so she thinks. She came to London to have a good time, and that’s exactly what she’s doing. Widely known for her tendency to flout the rules, she suspects nothing when a handsome stranger appears on her doorstep.

Thirteen days, a handful of kisses and one scandalous situation later, Andrew and Brooke will have to choose to stick to their original plans, or decide if a life together is worth the risk.

***This is a full-length novel, approx. 100,000 words.

Tifferz Take-
First off this is my first but not my last book by Rose Gordon! I adore the cover. I think it is perfect and would by the book just by the cover. This is a fun and entertaining story. I love how stubborn and sassy Brooke is. Oh the things this girl does. I enjoyed watching her push the limits with everyone! I liked how Andrew got himself into a pickle or two! It was great watching him figure out how to fix it. The flow and character development was great. The only thing is I still had a few questions at the end. I hope that in book two we see how Andrew and Brooke are doing and I am sure I will get my answers.
If you like regency romance pick this book up. Clean language. This does contain detailed consummation of a marriage. If you do not care for that it is easily to skip it. I do love that this is not your typical regency romance and that they are married before they are intimate. Thanks Rose for an escape on a rainy day! I hope you all enjoy this read! This is a three book series about three sisters. The best thing is all the books are out so no waiting!!!

Blurb-
With the head-to-head battle against the villainous Lokesh behind her, Kelsey confronts a new heartbreak: in the wake of his traumatic experience, her beloved Ren no longer remembers who she is. As the trio continues their quest by challenging five cunning and duplicitous dragons, Ren and Kishan once more vie for her affections--leaving Kelsey more confused than ever.

Fraught with danger, filled with magic, and packed with romance, Tiger's Voyage brings Kelsey and her two tiger princes one step closer to breaking the curse.

Tifferz take-

You all know I love this series and feel everyone should read it. Each book gets better and better and this one does not disappoint. Colleen writing is pure magic and simply flawless. The story continues with new adventures and challenges await Kelsey, Ren and Kishan. I loved the dragon's and mermaid and the challenges they have to meet in order to break another part of the curse. It was also inter sting to have Kelsey work with Ren and Kishan on the challenges. I thought she would have to pick one. It makes sense and makes things very interesting. I love how Colleen has developed the characters. They are not the same as they were in book one. It is has been fun to watch them grow. So, you need to read Tiger's Curse and Tiger's Quest before you read Tigers Voyage. Colleen yet again leaves you wanting more at the end which I love and hate. You get your romance sprinkled with magic and packed with adventure mingled with danger. I am eagerly waiting for book 4 Tiger's Destiny which comes out July 2012! I must have series. Highly recommend for ages over 10. No bad language and just kissing.

Tifferz Take-
I get a charge out of a hockey story as long as it is soundly written. I am please to say Stacy has competence in her storytelling. I appreciate the characters and what they experience. I dig the witty banter among brothers and friends. My heart went out to those boys when at home. Another pleasing story that keeps you thirsting for more. I will be awaiting the arrival of Offsides. It will be fun to see how things play out.

Northwest Angle by William Kent Krueger

Blurb-
With his family caught in the crosshairs of a group of brutal killers, detective Cork O’Connor must solve the murder of a young girl in the latest installment of William Kent Krueger’s unforgettable New York Times bestselling series.
During a houseboat vacation on the remote Lake of the Woods, a violent gale sweeps through unexpectedly, stranding Cork and his daughter, Jenny, on a devastated island where the wind has ushered in a force far darker and more deadly than any storm.

Amid the wreckage, Cork and Jenny discover an old trapper’s cabin where they find the body of a teenage girl. She wasn’t killed by the storm, however; she’d been bound and tortured before she died. Whimpering sounds coming from outside the cabin lead them to a tangle of branches toppled by the vicious winds. Underneath the debris, they find a baby boy, hungry and dehydrated, but still very much alive. Powerful forces intent on securing the child pursue them to the isolated Northwest Angle, where it’s impossible to tell who among the residents is in league with the devil. Cork understands that to save his family he must solve the puzzle of this mysterious child whom death follows like a shadow.

“Part adventure, part mystery, and all knockout thriller” (Booklist ), Northwest Angle is a dynamic addition to William Kent Krueger’s critically acclaimed, award-winning series.

Tifferz Take-
Mr. Krueger has a knack for writing a good mystery, suspense thriller that will not have you loosing sleep. I am all for a good mystery but I do not want to loose sleep thinking someone is after me. The plot is believable, with characters you grow to love tied in with a overall good message. What is not to like? I am thrilled to have discovered a new author with great writing skills. I felt myself going along with Cork and his family in this unexpected mystery. I was surprised at the ending! Great work. I just found out this is a series. I have not read any of the other books. I did not feel lost at all. This is also a stand alone book. So if you are a mystery, thriller reader pick it up and I hope you enjoy! I will be putting more of Mr.Krueger's work in my to be read pile.

Tifferz Take-
Loved,Loved this book I can't wait for the next two! Okay my super best friend told me about this book. So, I picked it up! It is one of those books you start and can't put it down because you are engrossed in it. Great plot, character development, mystery and a sweet romance. No sex in this story. My heart went out to Maggie. I liked how Ms. Gammon developed Maggie- she had a lot to deal with and had struggles that did not just magically go away. She had to work through them. I was up way till 12:30am reading this and it was so worth it. Great work Sherry. I highly recommend this book to anyone.

The Time In Between by Maria Duenas

Blurb-
Between Youth and Adulthood . . .

At age twelve, Sira Quiroga sweeps the atelier floors where her single mother works as a seamstress. At fourteen, she quietly begins her own apprenticeship. By her early twenties she has learned the ropes of the business and is engaged to a modest government clerk. But everything changes when two charismatic men burst unexpectedly into her neatly mapped-out life: an attractive salesman and the father she never knew.

Between War and Peace . . .

With the Spanish Civil War brewing in Madrid, Sira leaves her mother and her fiancé, impetuously following her handsome lover to Morocco. However, she soon finds herself abandoned, penniless, and heartbroken in an exotic land. Among the odd collection of European expatriates trapped there by the worsening political situation back on the Continent, Sira reinvents herself by turning to the one skill that can save her: her gift for creating beautiful clothes.

Between Love and Duty . . .

As England, Germany, and the other great powers launch into the dire conflict of World War II, Sira is persuaded to return to Madrid, where she takes on a new identity to embark upon the most dangerous undertaking of her career. As the preeminent couturier for an eager clientele of Nazi officers’ wives, Sira becomes embroiled in the half-lit world of espionage and political conspiracy rife with love, intrigue, and betrayal.

Tifferz Take-
I had the privilege of reading an arc copy of this beautifully written story. I was pulled into the story quickly and loved all the detail Ms. Duenas put into the story. I felt the story had a flawless flow and excellent characters that were developed! I liked watching Sira grow and learn. This story had grit. Sira and learns a lot and sometimes it is not pretty and my heart went out to her. I also learned a bit. This book really had a lot to interest me- betrayal, love, loss, travel to Madrid, Africa and Lisbon, and survival. This is a must read and I will be reading it again. I also can wait to find more from this author. I suggest you give this a read.
