Tifferz Take:

I received an arc copy of A New Dream to review. I can tell you I was intrigued and excited to read this book just from the blurb. This is an inspiring read that reminds us about judging people and forgiveness. I could totally relate to Violet and I found myself wanting things to work out for her and Matt. This is a clean read with only reference to sex. I think Elaine did a great job with the tension and chemistry between characters and the plot was excellent. This story will pull at your heartstrings like it did with me. I felt this romance very touching. I would definitely recommend this book and I will be looking for more stories from Elaine Cantrell.

Matching Wits with Venus by Therese Gilardi

From the Cover:
For centuries, Cupid has longed to be more than Venus’s arrow boy. When he’s sent to eliminate “Happily Ever After by Amelia”, the matchmaking business threatening Venus’s status as the goddess of love, Cupid decides to steal Amelia’s methods and make his own matches. While spying on Amelia, Cupid accidentally shoots himself with his magical arrow and falls in love with her. But bereaved Amelia doesn’t believe in the existence of Roman gods, and she’s certainly not looking for romance. She’s too busy perfecting the patented personality profile that’s made her Hollywood’s favorite matchmaker.

Disguising himself as a mortal financial advisor, Cupid manages to break through Amelia’s guarded exterior. As their passion deepens so does Cupid’s guilt about deceiving Amelia. Cupid’s interference with Amelia’s life causes her business to falter, leads to a sterile spring that threatens the animal kingdom and shatters the longstanding peace between the Roman and Greek gods. Man's best friend suddenly won't budge from Jeannie Broussard's home—and Jake can understand why. Jeannie's place is full of love, laughter and everything Jake has been missing in his life lately. As Jake spends time with Jeannie and her girls, a bond forges between them, and soon Jake is wondering if he's the perfect fit in this fatherless family….

Tifferz Take:

I received an arc copy of Daddy in the Making. I was excited to read this story because it was different. You have Jeannie raising her sister's twin daughters. I really liked that aspect of the story. I also liked that this was not an over powering Christan romance. Lyn did a great job developing the characters and having you care for them. I also enjoyed that these characters were not perfect and had some struggles to overcome. Overall this was a delightful read! This was my first Lyn Cote book and will not be my last.

Check out Colleen's website here:

From the Cover:

Kelsey Hayes is no ordinary college freshman. In fact, the eighteen-year-old girl has just returned from India, where she risked her life—and her heart—to rescue a handsome Indian prince from a terrible curse. Back home in Oregon, Kelsey is determined to move on, despite the lingering feelings she has for the man she left behind. She meets Li, a completely average guy who offers the promise of an ordinary, curse-free life. But just when Kelsey is ready to move on, Ren reenters her life, on a quest to reclaim her heart. Danger threatens their newly rekindled love and to save him, Kelsey must journey with someone else—a man who wants her for himself. The saga begun in Tiger’s Curse continues in Tiger’s Quest, as Kelsey finds herself in an epic battle between good and evil. From the shores of the Pacific Northwest to the jungles of India, the mountains of Nepal and Tibet, and the mystical realm of Shangri-la, this suspenseful tale of love, sacrifice, and redemption is not to be missed.

Tifferz Take-

I am lucky to have received an ARC copy of Tiger's Quest. I was simply giddy when I got it in the mail. I even did a little happy dance. You see, I have become obsessed with the Tiger series all over again. (I actually read the first two books in the series when Colleen was self published) I just love these books. It is going to take a awhile to get them out of my system.

Tiger's Quest will be take you on an emotional roller coaster ride as Kelsey, Ren and Kishan's adventure continues to break the second part of the curse. The book has two main parts: In the first part of the book, Kelsey is back in Oregon going to school. I like seeing how she copes with Ren back in India. The second part of the story details the adventures of Kelsey and Kishan as they are tested both individually and together. I know you all love Ren and I do too, but in this book we get to know Kishan a lot better. Though I am a true fan of Ren the white tiger, Kishan the black tiger has warmed his way into my heart as well.

I really can't thank Colleen enough for sharing her Tigers with us. This book has everything. Trust me you will love it. I am hoping as the adventure continues and they break more of the curse both Ren and Kishan will have a happy ending. But we will have to wait and see as book three Tiger's Voyage comes out this Nov. 1st, 2011.

This is a MUST have for your library. I just finished it and am going to read it again. I have already pre-ordered my hardback. I hope one day to meet Colleen and have her sign my books. So come to NC Colleen!!!!

About No Hope for Gomez!

It's the age-old tale:

- Boy meets girl.
- Boy stalks girl.

- Boy becomes her stalker-stalker.

We've seen it all before, many times, but this time it's different. If only slightly.

When Gomez Porter becomes a test subject in an experimental drug trial, he is asked to keep track of any strange experiences through a blog.

What Gomez isn't ready for, is so many of his experiences suddenly seeming strange; the antiques dealer trying to buy his old tax papers, the phone-sex salesman who hounds him day and night, the super sexy lab assistant who falls for him but is unable to express herself in terms outside the realm of science.

But when one of the trial participants turns up dead and another goes missing, Gomez begins to fear for his life. No longer sure who he can trust and which of his experiences are real and which merely drug induced delusions, he decides it's time to go underground and work out a devious plan.
Read a chapter.

"Bryan Cohen Blog Tour and Giveaway"

Finishing Strong
By Bryan Cohen

This is my final visiting guest post on my 33 day blog tour around the Web. In an attempt to finish strong, I’m going to talk about the ultimate “strong finish” as conceived by Dr. Stephen Covey, author of 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

In Covey’s book, he discusses an exercise in which you are to look all the way ahead to your death. You aren’t to picture the circumstances surrounding it or the preparations of the event. As part of the exercise you are simply supposed to picture the eulogies delivered by your friends and loved ones. Ideally, you would probably want these eulogies to tell tales of a great person who accomplished amazing things and had an unshakable character. Covey essentially asks the question, “Well, how are you doing so far?”

If you were to project ahead to this day, what would these people actually say about you? Would they say that you went for your dreams and inspired people? Would they say that you were a good employee who worked hard for the money? Would they say that you were there for the people who cared about you the most? The trick with this exercise is that you get to choose what they are going to say. The way you choose, is by living the life the way you want to be talked about when you are no longer here.

When I first read about this exercise I was not particularly happy with the way I might be portrayed in the eulogies during my funeral. I was a passionate guy with big dreams who had accomplished little of what I’d set out to do in my creative life. Due to low funds and always needing a favor here and there, I had alienated many friends by not attending their events or to their needs. I spent a lot of time online and my weight was beginning to balloon from a lack of exercise.

I’m not saying that reading about this eulogy concept changed everything, but it was certainly a kick in the pants to head in the appropriate direction. I wanted to be known as a person who had accomplished things. I wanted people to say that I was a loyal friend and someone that they were happy to have known. I wanted to be an inspiration to people in my daily actions, my physique, my everything. That is how I want people to remember me when I’m gone.

I’m not all of the way there yet. There are still big things in this world I want to accomplish, but I know that I’ve spent a lot of my time wisely these last few years getting closer to where I want to end up by the end. None of us can control when we’re going to die and how it’s going to happen. But if we control the way in which we live, we can change how people look at our impact on the world after we go.
