The Pioneer Woman Black Heels to Tractor Wheels by Ree Drummond

From the Cover: "That's when I saw him—the cowboy—across the smoky room." I'll never forget that night. It was like a romance novel, an old Broadway musical, and a John Wayne western rolled into one. Out for a quick drink with friends, I wasn't looking to meet anyone, let alone a tall, rugged cowboy who lived on a cattle ranch miles away from my cultured, corporate hometown. But before I knew it, I'd been struck with a lightning bolt . . . and I was completely powerless to stop it. Read along as I recount the rip-roaring details of my unlikely romance with a chaps-wearing cowboy, from the early days of our courtship (complete with cows, horses, prairie fire, and passion) all the way through the first year of our marriage, which would be filled with more challenge and strife—and manure—than I ever could have expected. This isn't just my love story; it's a universal tale of passion, romance, and all-encompassing love that sweeps us off our feet. It's the story of a cowboy. And Wranglers. And chaps. And the girl who fell in love with them.

Tifferz Take: I did read Black Heels to Tractor Wheels blog posts last Christmas off Ree's blog and could not wait for the book with the added first year of marriage. I picked this book up off of amazon and can say it was great...worth the money and time spent reading it. I loved the Cover and detailed flowers on the pages throughout the book. This is a true to life authentic love story. I really like that Ree wrote this book in so that her daughters could pick it up to read it and not be embarrassed. So, yes it is super clean (sex is behind closed doors) with only a handful of swear words. This story reads like a blog. I would expect no less since Ree is a blogger. This story has some really sweet moments, laugh out loud moments, a few sad moments and moments when you just smile. This is a fun read for when you need a break from you life. I look forward to more from Ree Drummond

Leslie Langtry Bombay Family of Assassins

From the Cover: YOU CAN'T PICK YOUR FAMILY... Death by Chocolate is her favorite dessert. And those knitting needles aren't just for craft projects. To most people, Gin Bombay is an ordinary single mom. Then again, they don't know she's from a family of top secret assassins. Somewhere between leading a Girl Scout troop for her kindergartner--would nooses count for a knot badge?--and keeping their puppy from destroying the furniture, Gin now has to take out a new target. BUT YOU CAN PICK THEM OFF Except this target has an incredibly hot Australian bodyguard who knows just how to make her weak in the knees. But with a mole threatening to expose everything, Gin doesn't have much time to let her hormones do the happy dance. She's got to find the leak and clear her assignment...or she'll end up next on the Bombay family hit list.

From the Cover:

Dakota Bombay prided himself on his blond Bond image---bad-guy killer by day, lady-killer by night. Then his life gets both shaken and stirred by an irate grandmother demanding a marketing plan for the family assassination business, a precocious six-year-old son Dak never knew he had, and a mysterious redhead who's erased his decades-old preference for blondes. Suddenly the perennial playboy is knee deep in pie charts and thinking he may have found the perfect mom for his boy. She's smart, funny, and directs a funeral home no less---what could be better? Now if he can just take out a team of rival assassins without getting killed himself, they can all live trigger-happily ever after.

From the Cover:

Missi Bombay invents ways for the Bombay Family of assassins to kill bad guys. Her life is peaceful as a widow with twin, teen sons living on her own island. Then the Bombay Family sends her on an assignment to the set of a cheap Canadian knockoff of Survivor. She has to find her target and take him out before being voted off. Missi Bombay is the Bombay Family's inventor. With twin sons about to go to college, she's happy just blowing things up in her lab on her private island. That is, until her next assignment from the family business which just happens to be assassination. As a contestant on a cheap, Canadian knockoff of Survivor, she has to find the bad guy and take him out, while fighting off feelings for Lex, the sexy stuntman.

From the Cover:

Cy Bombay is somewhat of a Bombay Family enigma. He's an assassin - as per the family business, but he's also a carney with an ivy league Ph.D and a guinea pig named Sartre. Cy left the ivory tower to travel the world learning different fighting styles, when he's on leave from the carnival. Meeting Veronica Gale, a grad student who aspires to that ivory tower, is more than he bargained for. Life is good for Cy Bombay. He travels from town to town, living off the grid in his tricked out RV with his guinea pig named Sartre. Cy likes balancing his lives as a carney and assassin by exploring fighting styles all over the world. This time, he's off to Mongolia to compete at the Naadaam festival in wrestling, he thinks he has life totally pegged. That is, until he meets Veronica Gale - a naive grad student who can't understand why he doesn't work in his Ph.D field. Throw in a couple of Bombay Family "assignments," and Cy definitely has his hands full.

Coming Soon!!!

Tifferz Take:

First off my sister told me about Guns will keep us together and that is how I found out about Leslie Langtry! I always love to find a new author and Leslie is great. I was hooked with the first book I read and have not had any regrets with any of the others. This is a series but each book also can stand alone. As I stated before I started with book 2. Then read book 1, 3 and 4. Book 5 will be coming soon!!!

These books are great. The story lines, plot and character development are great. These are a fast paced easy read. They are very light hearted and yet they have mystery, adventure, suspense and romance. I do feel I should warn you they do contain swearing (more than just a few words) and premarital sex with some detail. You can skip the sex parts very easily but if swearing bothers you then you might want to think twice about these books. I do have to confess with each book I read I was telling my husband he needed to become an assassin. I know crazy but Leslie captivated me!!! Needless to say my husband did not quit this job and become an assassin. I look forward to reading book #5. This is a really fun series, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Wretched Land by Mila Komarnisky

From the Cover: Dmytro Verbitsky, an impoverished Ukrainian aristocrat, is actively engaged in the WWI, the Civil War and the WWII. Despite the cruelty of Stalin’s regime, he manages to raise a loving family, avenges his wife’s rape, learns to understand and forgive his father’s suicide, and nurtures hopes for Ukraine’s independence.

Tifferz Take:

I received a arc copy of Wretched Land. I felt the title very appropriate it says so much about story. On the cover of the book it states passionate love, intense suffering and miraculous survival and is so true. You get them all in this story. This is a amazing story with a love that is tested so many ways through war, famine, rape and much more. You may need tissue while reading this story. Wretched Land takes you on a journey through the lives of a forbidden love and marriage. I like that Mila gives us the history of the Ukraine in the story. I learned a thing or two. I read this story in a day, I needed to see how things turned out for our hero and heroine and all the kids. I felt very satisfied when I finished the book. Mila ties up everything every nicely. I always love to find new authors.

Across Eternity by Aris Whittier

From the Cover:
Born a genius; education, wealth, and prestige came easy to Logan Richards. Actually, there wasn’t much that Logan couldn’t learn or acquire. However, he knew there was more to life than money and power. Logan was determined to find the woman who he'd dreamed of his entire life and know what it was like to love her before he died. Amber Lewis, a waitress for a five-star restaurant in, Dana Point, California, was overworked, stressed, and wary of life since her sister, Heather, had passed away. Then, one evening while working she fell hopelessly in love with Logan Richards, a chivalrous man who felt deeply familiar. For Amber, it was the beginning of a voyage of self-discovery and renewal. For Logan, it was the completion of life. For each of them it was the deepest sort of love.

Tifferz Take:
I am so excited I was able to read an arc copy of Across Eternity by Aris Whittier. I was really intrigued by this story. After reading the first few chapters I was unable to put this book down. I was so drawn into the story, I had to see what happened next. This is a love story that pulls at your heart. I was balling in more than one place. ( so make sure you have some tissue near by) I want to be honest and I normally don't read stories that make me cry. For some reason I was okay with it. Aris has told a emotional love story that makes you stop and really think. This story sticks with you., it has been on my mind for a few days now. It does contain a few swear words and a few love scenes with no graphic sexual content. A well written book with a good plot and vivid descriptions so you can see it all unfold. I look forward to Aris's next book. I would recommend this book. I am so excited to have discovered a new author!!!!
